I'm afraid the only help I can offer is

start menu
run
type cmd
press enter
black screen comes up
type
format C: /s

.. problem solved.


Ok, dont do that..

I bought Vista when it first came out. The only actual copy of Windows i ever bought in my entire life.. what a mistake that was!

Actually it's safe to do that.
You won't be able to format system drive thru Windows (at least not the one you're running Windows from). Even in administrator mode.
You'll get an error after it ask you if you're sure to want to do that and answered "Yes"
(Well, that was under XP, under Vista/7 they may have done the test before asking for confirmation, anyway, it's still safe)

Anyway, if the OP was able to run a commandprompt, I doubt he'd ask for something to remove admin password...

THIS is all you need.
Put it on a cd, pop the cd into a computer, and you can completely erase the hard drives from the moment the computer is turned on. No passwords needed

i have vista on my lap top and i had a problem with the finger print security pad , i have never been able to clear the problem.
but what i did is just change the user .
i hope this will help you

Thank you! I still have to clear 3 more computers and this looks like the quickest/easiest.

When you boot your windows CD just make sure you choose delete drive,

Pick 'Custom'


Select the drive, click 'drive options', then 'delete'


There, now everything is deleted
No need to over complicate things

I like to use a USB to boot to Linux
Poke around and get the files you want and then nuke the hard drive and install what you want on there.
