They are going to lay off 800,000 people, TSA won't be able to work, borders will go unguarded, meats won't get inspected, EMT's and fire fighters won't be able to respond, . . . . .

No we have to work, just give up approximately 186 hours of our time and pay; becuase the only area (and it is an obvious political move) to cut is payroll.

For instance, here is something that would probably save some money: I was in the military for 6 years and held and maintained a secret clearance (no reason for what I did to have a higher one). When I transferred to an Federal agency, they reran my whole security clearance package. Redid finger-prints, interviews, and other various resources when all they should have done is review my military file and transfer any relevant documents to the new agency.

Countless other agencies overlap each other in their quest for bigger bureaucracy and to justify their existence, but it is payroll who gets hammered. Baseline budgeting gets no mention (requesting above what it was the previous year because you overspent the previous year's budget most likely on purpose; in simple terms).

I give it another 5-10 years before it cannot sustain anymore. I am lenient here as a natural contraction will occur but will be resisted (as has been over the past 20 or so years; bubble-markets are a friend of the Government) until no more.

I've long since lost any trust in my federal government. These last two administrations have been killers... both at home and abroad, as far as that commodity.

My last fond memories were of the mid and late '90s, when the world was (*mostly) at peace and the economy was ticking along. Prez'dent Bill was being hounded because of a blow job but... all things taken into consideration, I'd trade that for what we have today.

Obama is, for me, just another fully planned facefront for a dark power source devoted to forcing a new reality upon the world. What my nation is today, is not what it was or was ever meant to be. But... the same thing can be said about nearly every nation on the planet. While the world is being indoctrinated to accept what is to come, then those of us who do not follow will become more and more isolated... eventually to become the new age Jews amidst a new generation of brown shirts.

strange?... spending has decreased from 1,413 billion in 2009, to...1,293 billion in 2010, then to...1,300 billion in 2011, then to...1,089 billion in 2012, then projected to be 901 billion in 2013.

apparently, the "spending problem" you say we have is a REDUCTION IN SPENDING of 400 BILLION or APPROX. a 30% REDUCTION IN SPENDING DURING OBAMAS FIRST TERM

The salaries of Congress (House and Senate) and the President and his Cabinet members plus Vice President should be inversely related to the deficit. If the deficit is say 10% over the federal receipts the above salaries should be docked the same amount (cough up boys and girls).

Where on that site (and surprised you use it given the "right-wing untruthyness" leaning of it) did you get those numbers?:

"Deficit" wise, there was a slight decrease because of more "revenue" taken in, but overall Federal spending has been sharply rising; beyond this president I might add.
