Lets just hope they learn fron fukushima and build them well away from fault lines. But a nation the size of Iran deserves to be able to use nuclear power in this day and age.

Fairly obvious you wont be around here long with the way you conduct yourself here. Good luck making it on ATS for another couple months.

I think I'll stay to refute ever lie you spit out.

Every blabber of pro Iran sentiments, I will refute.

Any bit of nonsensical drivel about pro Iran propaganda, I will stomp on like a worthless bug.

And I will do so, because here at ATS we deny ignorance, we don't embrace it.

They both have been promoted past the point of their ability.
Neither one should be running a country.
And neither one can be trusted to tell the truth.

ETA ... you didn't answer me .. do you live in the USA?
If so .. if it's so bad here then why are you here??

Ahmadinejad is a Univeristy professor and is more than capable of using his abilities to run a country. With that it is claimed he still lectures in Iranian universities for a mere $250-300 US a week. What had Obama done? What had Bush done? Ahmadinejad has achieved more than both of those muppets put together.

Get the hell out of the Middle East and you might find that Muslims won't want to cut your head off and drag your naked body down a dirt road while slapping a sandal across your arse.

Let's see what Iran has to say .... hmmm ....

Iranian Chamber Society - Iranian Laws and Government
General Principles of Iranian Constitution
All I see is Islam Islam Islam. No thanks. I prefer a secular and balanced government. And the government of Iran is paranoid about barbie dolls and kids squirt guns and buddha statues ... taking them away from the people. THAT is insane. Again ... No thanks.

More reasons to question the accuracy of the 'Iran announces uranium finds and power plant expansion" .. look at history of the Iranian government telling lies ..

New Contradictions and Lies from Iran
Iran Government Lies about Airplane
Iran says it's not involved in Syria .. but they are

etc etc etc ...

While I respect your posts and contributes to many posts, the first post you have cited to Iran making false claims, is a report on someone's opinion, the second has been discussed and proven to be a lie by Iran, and the third is false, as far as them denying their involvement. In the last citation, they admit and go into detail as to why they have involvement.

Then let the inspectors come in and prove it's just for electricity. Simple.

That's the same way of thinking that was used against Husein and Iraq.....look where that got us?

Let me put it this way: If the government wanted to come in and "inspect" your home to see if you are using your bathtub as a methlab.....what would you say?

You would tell them that it's none of their business and that you would like to assert your rights as an individual, considering they have no reason to believe you are doing so.

Why can't Iran do the same as a sovereign nation? It is arrogance to even think that we have the right to ask another nation to open their doors for us so that we can cure our own paranoia, and if they don't comply we impose sanctions and threaten with war?

Am I the only one that sees the hypocrisy here?

ETA: I am not pro-Iran. I am pro-freedom and respect the liberties of other people and nations as long as they recognize and respect my individual rights.

If we want to be free ourselves, we must afford others the same in kind.

Well Obama was a graduate of Columbia and Harvard law and taught constitutional law at the university of chicago from 1992-2004. So um, Id say Obama can handle his own.

Just because you refuse to look at my citations, that's not my fault. Your ignorance does not equal me not proving my points.

Can only lead a horse to water, cant make him drink. And you my friend are that horse right now. Sad to see what a pro iran stance does to the brain. Losing all grasps of logic and reality.

BECAUSE YOUR CITATIONS PROVE NOTHING.... Show me where they said they were going to "wipe a country off the face of the earth"! Not that a country SHOULD be.... but that they were GOING TO... Those are two completely different statements... Back up your claims...

If they were no threat and only wanted uranium for nuclear power, why would there be such sanctions against them? It's not a universal sanction that covers all nations, it was specifically set for Iran.

Israel is a bully and Iran is not afraid of them.

If a bully doesn't get his satisfaction he gets his friend to beat you up or intimidate you.

Iranians are Persians.

That's different from Arabs. They don't get along.

The Arabs are terrified of them having a bomb for obvious reasons.

So they run to Israel for support, who uses Amerika to apply pressure through the U.N.

I wouldn't want people from foreign countries coming in and snooping about in my land.

Who would?

How are they not different? Saying someone should be dead is completely different than saying that you are going to kill them... Yes, I read your links and they say the same thing... Iran thinks a country should be gone, but they DO NOT SAY Iran is GOING to do it....

That's like you sitting around with your friends saying, "Iran should be invaded and gone from the earth" It it you SAYING they should and not you telling them "Tomorrow, I am GOING TO invade Iran and wipe them off the face of the earth"!

“Israel must be uprooted and wiped off [the pages of] history” - the inscription on a Shahab 3 missile in a military parade in Tehran, September 22, 2003

While the captions of the posters in English read “Down with Esrail [Israel]” and “Down with USA,” the captions in Arabic read “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”

A month later on January 15, 2001, at a meeting with organizers of the International Conference for Support of the Intifada, he stated: “The foundation of the Islamic regime is opposition to Israel and the perpetual subject of Iran is the elimination of Israel from the region.”32 Iranian journalist Kasra Naji translated this sentence from the original Farsi as follows: “It is the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to erase Israel from the map of the region.”33

Ayatollah Janati: The People Wish the Death of America and Israel Ayatollah Ahmad Janati, 82, is a member of President Ahmadinejad’s inner circle, and is Chairman of the Guardian Council of the Constitution. According to the Fars News Agency, he told reporters during the 22 of Bahman parade (marking the anniversary of the Islamic revolution) that every year there is a bigger crowd, the slogans are more enthusiastic, and the Islamic regime’s situation is getting better and better. He added: “The blind enemies should see that the wish of these people is the death of America and Israel.”37 General Safavi: Death for the Zionist Regime Yahya Rahim Safavi, 55, one of the “hard-core” founders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and its former commander, is now senior advisor to Supreme Leader Khamenei. In a speech in February 2008, he said: “With God’s help the time has come for the Zionist regime’s death sentence.”38 Safavi is also fond of referring to Israel as impure, unhygienic and contaminated. In remarks at a memorial ceremony for assassinated terrorist Imad Mughniyeh held in the city of Hamadan on February 23, 2008, he stated that the “death of this unclean regime ( مرگ این رژیم ناپاک ) [Israel] will arrive soon following the revolt of Muslims.”39 Mohammad-Ali Ramin: The Jews Are Very Filthy People Mohammad-Ali Ramin refers to himself, as does the press, as an adviser to Ahmadinejad. He is a well-known Holocaust denier and is believed to be behind the president’s statements on this issue. He is secretary of the political committee of the Rayeheh Khosh-Khedmat party which supports the president. On June 9, 2006, according to the reformist Internet daily Rooz, Ramin told a group of students in Rasht: “Among the Jews there have always been those who killed God’s prophets and who opposed justice and righteousness. Historically, there are many accusations against the Jews. For example, it was said that they were the source for such deadly diseases as the plague and typhus. This is because the Jews are very filthy people. For a time people also said that they poisoned water wells belonging to Christians and thus killed them.”40 Ramin does

Well Obama was a graduate of Columbia and Harvard law and taught constitutional law at the university of chicago from 1992-2004. So um, Id say Obama can handle his own.

But can Obama match this?

Supporters of Ahmadinejad consider him a "simple man" who leads a "modest" life. As president, he wanted to continue living in the same house in Tehran his family had been living in until his security advisers insisted that he should move. Ahmadinejad had the antique Persian carpets in the Presidential palace sent to a carpet museum, and opted instead to use inexpensive carpets. He is said to have refused the V.I.P. seat on the Presidential plane, and that he eventually replaced it with a cargo plane instead. Also upon gaining Iran's presidency, Ahmadinejad held his first cabinet meeting in the Imam Reza shrine at Mashhad, an act perceived as "pious".

And theres more

In 2003, a 12-percent turnout elected conservative candidates from the Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran to the City Council of Tehran. The Council appointed Ahmadinejad mayor.

As mayor, he reversed changes made by previous moderate and reformist mayors. He put religious emphasis on the activities of cultural centres they had founded, publicised the separation of elevators for men and women in the municipality offices, and suggested that people killed in the Iran–Iraq War be buried in major city squares of Tehran. He also worked to improve the traffic system and put an emphasis on charity, such as distributing free soup to the poor.

After his election to the presidency, Ahmadinejad's resignation as the Mayor of Tehran was accepted on 28 June 2005. After two years as mayor, Ahmadinejad was one of 65 finalists for World Mayor in 2005, selected from 550 nominees, only nine of them from Asia. He was among three strong candidates for the top-ten list, but his resignation made him ineligible.

But wait, theres more.

He was married to Azam Sadat Farahi on 12 June 1981 in Tehran. Farahi was a classmate of Ahmadinejad's when she studied at the Iran University of Science and Technology. They have three children, including one daughter, Fatemeh, and two sons, Mehdi and Alireza. His older son, Mehdi, married the daughter of Ahmadinejad's chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, in 2007; and his younger son, Alireza, is married to the niece of former military general, Mahmoud Kaveh. All of his children studied at the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). His son in law is Mehdi Khorshidi.

Very intelligent family by the sounds of it and most certainly a good role model for Iranians..

Yes and he doesn't hate Israel either. He hates the political heads who control that country.. Iran has one of the boggest jewish communities outside of Israel and their lineage runs back to ancient times. Are they persecuted because of their backgrounds? No, Jews are not the problem, the polivies of Political Jews who use religion as a veil are.
