Television programs in the UK racism against white people

I think that if you are getting worked about the white bad guy and the black good guy on TV shows then you need to go and re-evaluate what is important in your live.

From your OP it sounds like to me your getting upset because the portrayal of crime on UK fictional TV shows is not represent the proportion of crimes committed by ethnic minorities nor is the true ethnic makeup of the police represented exactly as it would be in reality. I mean seriously again dude, if this is what your losing sleep over or feel a need to rant about then again you need to re-evaluate what is important in your life.

It’s not racist against white people its just the casting selection being ethnically diverse.

Maybe he should try watching USA TV more for a greater diversity. I think American films do tend to show black criminals/gangs ect maybe reflecting reality abit more.

He wants to see white people with degrees getting more credit.

I do see what he means. Actually the British TV is slightly backward. Like its more " manipulative" so is the media here.


Im British and watch some TV, he is lying when hes says in the programs blacks are always in charge. Hes BSing and this sort of BS doesnt help. You have plenty of detective programs with whites in charge. But maybe your " racist" eye is drawn to this and abit intimidated. Watch yourself. Because your time is up. Diversity is here.
Although I think USA media and news has some manipulation and bias, it isnt as bad as it is in the UK. Infact in the USA its blatent. But here its very sneaky.

The fact is there are black and white criminals both as bad as each other.

Most criminals in the UK are white. I'm not sure why an accurate portrayal of that fact would annoy you?

and anyway, most shows i can recall with a heavy black cast seem to based on street crime and gangs, and only ever appear on channel 4 because the beeb and itv don't seem to like black characters, unless its a crime-based show like The Bill. Black chracters usually are negative stereotyped if anything

Most people just have this whole subject completely backwards. Most believe it is more ignorant, backwards, and hurtful to society for you to simply notice certain groups of people might commit a disproportionate amount of crime than for these people to actually commit the crimes in the first place. I am not hateful, and I truly believe everyone has a right to exist in peace. However, I am not one to deny the reality that is clearly presenting itself. I do not live in fantasy land like so many others. I am not worried about being called names or hurting anyone's feelings here, the truth doesn't always glitter and shine.

wouldnt one remember the merest detail of such an outrageously racist piece of television programming such as it's title, or when you saw it, allowing you to check in the paper (or the internet he's using) and see what it's called?
i'm white and live in the uk - the only thing tv victimises is our intelligence by the programming being so dumbed down much of the time.

Yes I have noticed this.

Also you will find in almost any advert where families are portrayed that there is a mixed race couple, a white woman and a black man. This is far from the norm and yet is presented as a accurate representation of the average UK family. They managed to base a whole section of the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony on a white woman black man couple.

Trouble is the laws in the UK are so draconian now that even just mentioning this leaves you open to those simple of mind to call you a racist.
