Hi, I spotted this on Top Gear Season 19 Episode 4 at approximately 45.25 seconds. It is a white orb-like object and appears too small to be the moon. I also do not have access to the date, time or location of when this was filmed in Mexico.

What are your thoughts ATS?

Sorry, I realise that is a bit small - here is a cropped version of the particular frame:

I see a the moon, possibly a star, plane or dust on the camera lens not a Klingon Bird of Prey

Sorry OP but this is hardly evidence that ET has touched down in Mexico….

fair enough, hence my question - to me, the light angle/shadows/reflection and size looked a bit off for it to be the moon.
I can honestly say I have never seen the moon set(?) looking like that (apparently it sets in the West - so that appears to be correct as the camera seems to be shooting in the approximate direction of the sunset).

Thanks everyone, the Moon it is then - I consider myself duly chastened and embarrassed.

I appreciate the responses.

It's size on screen would depend on the focal length of the lens used while filming just because something doesn't look right to your eyes doesn't mean you are seeing something strange.

The right side, where it's illuminated, doesn't appear completely rounded, as it should be. I'm not totally convinced it's the moon. But, it's probably not aliens either. It is a bit curious looking, though.

It is a case of of reading this forum (not too mention watching too many dubious Youtube videos) and seeing too much in ordinary mundane (if a spectacular moonset can be called mundane) events - it is why I appreciate this site and it's awesome members so much. I do not mind being shot down by critics- it is the only way to learn to think critically.
We need intelligent, balanced debunkers and sceptics in the field of UFOlogy - they keep our feet firmly on the ground and our minds rooted in the rich field of the rational.
We live in an age of information overload - believe me, I will think twice (and Google thrice) before posting anything similar.
Once again - thanks ATS.

Do you absolutely HAVE to take the piss every time you chime in on one of these threads?

Do you have some kind of compulsion disorder or something...i mean, once or twice it's a giggle...but all the bleeding time?

Try to be constructive or at least try not to take the piss every time would you please?

OP, do you have a crop of the video clip so i can download it and have a close look please?

In the video, was the object moving at all?

Cheers for posting, it may turn out to be nothng out of the ordinary, but if we don't have a proper look, we won't know for sure.

just freaking use Stellarium, see where the Moon is at the given time of the day and you will make your own conclusion, Yesterday I saw the moon at 4pm, was well lit and it was daylight. UFO?

The time of day would have to be a guess since the OP didn't film it...the BBC did.

Yes, the moon is visible during the day...though i don't think anyone has denied that have they?

I cannot blame the posters, they have seen so much rubbish posted, I guess it is a knee-jerk reaction to having their time wasted, sometimes I feel the same

You are correct but I assumed I need a date, time, and location (and direction) for a more precise explanation. Please correct if I am wrong - my knowledge in this field is sadly very limited.

Thank you for the interest - I did not post any clip due to my perception of copyright restrictions (not sure if you can recommend software that will enable me to make a short and clip and whether this is would be ok with ATS T&C)
