Sounds great…except they are the people who draft law!
How about we start by taking away their ability to make unconstitutional law? The states can do that. Let's start with nullification and go from there.
Just sayin'!

The only way to really do it is to beat them at their own game. There is no quick solution. You make a ton of money and you buy politicians. They are all whores.

Nah, in the kingdom of inequity money talks and bulls*** walks. If you pay them, they will do your bidding. Petitioning does nothing.
That SHOULD be the answer, unfortunately many of the state's legislators are every bit as evil as the feds or they would have gone the nullification route long since.

That's not new though. That's how it's always been and always will be. There are good AND bad people in the world. We can't let that deter us if we're serious.
Look at the union and confederate states during the civil war. Some states leaned one way and the rest leaned another. We have different issues today but the divide is still there. People had to pick sides. We have to pick sides today - you're either for the constitution or you're part of the problem.
If we don't take back power through the power of the state then what do we do?? I think it's our only hope. It means many people will have to relocate to a state that shares their values but that's a small price to pay compared to what some here are advocating.

Look, we all want to get this corrupt government out of office, and take back our country, that we all know and love. We all spend so much time on forums like this very one (and MANY others just like it) on the internet, complaining, whining, and
saying how we are so tired of the corruptness of the fed reserve, the president, congress, TPTB, and so on. Yet, what CAN WE REALLY DO? Seriously, I want to know HOW we would go about implementing a change? Is there anything at all? We all want the change, we all know its happening(well, most of us), yet these corrupt things keep happening. Does ATS have any ideas? If so, where do I sign up?!?!
ETA: I mean, we were ready as a nation to impeach and crucify Bill Clinton over a stain on a blue dress 14 years ago. Now, we have the secret service partying it up with hookers and doing drugs while they are supposed to be protecting the president. What has changed that makes this acceptable, unimpeachable behavior today?edit on 21-2-2013 by thesmokingman because: (no reason given)

The key to taking back power from the federal usurpers lies in the states.
The effort has already begun. We need to support local efforts to resist tyranny. Many states are fed up with the nonsense being peddled by douche bags in DC and they have said "NO." No matter what the issue, we need to support these stands against tyranny everywhere they occur so it will inspire other states to stand with us. If enough people get behind it, something is bound to change.
