No one should be paying any more in taxes, as WE are ALL paying too much as is.

A flat tax would solve all of these issues.

The Progressive Tax system is what has caused all of this crap.

Really I seem to think my taxes are quite reasonable, but I'm also not an infant who wants others to pay my way. How else would general maintenance take place? I agree that the taxes need to be evened out on all fronts but the fact that people think they're paying 'too' much in taxes is insane. Taxes need to be lowered in certain areas such as fuel and certain criteria to manage that needs to be put in place. But realistically if you 'think' you pay too much in taxes you don't, and until everyone in this country, rich or poor, starts paying the fair amount we'll never get out of the hole we're in. I also am a firm believer that the people should have more power, something that also needs to change if the government continues down the same path.

I make about 50K per year. Starting January 1, there's another $30 PER WEEK missing from my check.

Also do some digging my friend, the US is very low on the current list for personal tax rates, but much higher for corporate. So again you think you pay too much? I'm sure just about all of Europe would sympathize with you... But you know that might be why you can go over a hundred on the highway because well they have the money to make a good one.

I'm pretty much off grid at this point and obviously I have most of those things.

I also work under the table to avoid any kind of garnishments against wages of any sort.

One must realize, that the value of taxes owed would probably never equal the value of land or a home and thus could not be legally taken as just compensation. In the same regard there is no such thing as debtors prison in the United States, so long as you are protected and your possessions are protected, nothing can come of not paying your taxes. You just have to do it carefully.

I do not believe in the direction of money in this country nor do I believe in an income tax, therefore I will not subject myself to it no matter what the "law" dictates. The law is wrong.

When people are taxed without representation that is tyranny and dare I say slavery. At least in communist countries people have a roof over their head, a job and a vacation, even if they have no freedom at all. Not saying communism is ideal or even good. Its not!

I have no problem with local and state taxes. In fact property taxes is the only real tax that makes sense; pays for local police, schools, fire department, parks, libraries, road development and maintaince, garbage removal, etc.

Its not a black and white issue like democrats and republicans make it. A progressive tax rate within bounds would be ideal for federal taxes provided the federal government was not totally out of control as it is now. And the 350k wealthy line is too low, that is why I call it pseudo-redistribution scheme. Taxing upper middle class to pay for lower middle and poor people. Rich people pay # because they own the government to begin with.

I agree to a point for local and state taxes. That is the way it is supposed to be.
Property tax is a HUGE load of crap. If you own your property, then why are you yearly taxed for owning it?

Sorry, but the Govt is out of control. It getting more money just leads to it wanting more money after that.
