She’s had me jumping all day taking pics.
And LOUD - wow.
Now she’s playing games in the sunset.
Is that - the devil I see?

Last night she was busy - no lava no pics - but very loud.

This morning is Sunday - her day of rest right? Nope.

She’s putting out a lot - but back to being quiet - ash without those huge house rocking booms.

Last night aprox. 23:40 - Etna’s new crater - A bright red thumbprint of blood against a black canvas.

This morning 03:30 - Explosions of noise with clouds blocking the view leaving a smudge of red on the horizon.

Currently? Constant sound and not a sight of red from behind clouds of rain - but I know the lava is there I can hear it - the noise is most unnerving in it’s constancy.

Even the web cams are showing a blanket of gray. If only we could see her it would be spectacular if her vocalization is any indication of action.

THAT'S what she's doing behind the clouds - that I can't see yet!

I've tried all morning to get a closer look - but the clouds are not helping. A quick peak and then she's gone again.


But LOUD? Her voice is leaving no doubt she's awake and she's active and she's all powerful.

This is turning into quite the little event.

She made me work hard for that pic. But I think it was worth it.

Volcano

The awaited new paroxysm of Etna's NEW SE crater started last night and is still in full progress. Unfortunately, a snow storm above the summit area prevents detailed observations, but judging from the seismic signal, this eruption is unusually long and intense (and still growing at the time of updating). Ash fall has been reported from villages to the E/NE (Zafferana, Milo etc), where the plume is carried to by strong Libeccio winds.

Another Etna-smoke-ring! I am soooo blessed and psyched!!!

(Be back later with lava pics but at the moment I'm a little freaked - check out my threads if you want to see why I don't want to derail my own thread here).

Anyway - back with lava pics in a bit - she is still at it and settling in it seems for a long night of spewing lava.

Are you ok?
Was waiting for more of the photos from the day of the mishap.

Strange pic because at the time of the ‘snap’ - it wasn’t quite dark and it wasn’t quite light - which means my camera duds out.
BUT!
You can see (or I hope you can) Etna is rearing to go again.
When it’s a little darker I’ll try again - but for now - it aint art - it’s an update!

She's never quite gone back to sleeping - and now - she's getting loud again.
Who knows what the day will bring - she's doing an awful lot of grumbling.
And getting loud about it.

She’s been surprisingly quiet for all the action - but she is getting louder now.
Her lava fountains are growing.
Seems we’re looking at heading upwards to a peak of action.
Still waiting for lava rivers.
