This new crater is heating up again - well, not again she hasn't really stopped - but at the moment it's getting more active. A notice went out at the 'meteo' saying there's a possible eruption in the future. Now that made me laugh. When isn't she about to erupt?

She’s been acting the monster from a horror movie all day - puffing along - puffing along keeping all in suspense!

Lava flow this evening - not a lot - so far.

It will be interesting to see if the eclipse tonight has any noticeable effect - pushing her one way or another.

Still puffing and throwing out lava fountains. Time she had a nap I think

Strange stuff.
She made ash all day and kept quiet about it.
A couple hours ago? Flip - Flop. She started making noise, but no ash.
Now? Some lava on top like a bright red cherry but not much more.

Strong strombolian-type explosions, probably accompanied by effusion of small lava flows continued all night from the New SE crater and produced strong glow visible through the fog around the summit. Rumblings were heard in nearby villages, but fog and clouds have been preventing detailed observations. The tremor has risen to high levels comparable with those during previous paroxysms, then decreased a bit and seems now to increase again. This pattern looks very similar to the 12 April paroxysm, one which was preceded by a long phase of very strong explosions, that culminated in lava fountaining only after the tremor had reached its peak.
etnalive

Getting louder - shaking more - but can't see a bloomin' thing.

I would gladly help clean up the mess, if I could only see an eruption from your view point. Probably scary, but think of the stories you can tell. Correction - Do tell. Thanks for keeping us all up to date and the great pics.

Well get on over here David - Etna and I love visitors, but at the moment she is busy making a LOT of noise and making my house to the *twist* along with dumping loads of ash on a town north of here. She is really going at it. I wish I could share some photos but the sun and clouds are blocking 'our Ladies' view.

Let me see what I can find from the web cams etc - maybe there will be something I can post - if nothing else when the sun changes I should have something to put up then...

Pressure is really high with lots of groud activity. I can only see white cloud/smoke. She was in string strombolian activity but this seems a little more than that. Back soon.

Well still no paroxysm but the Strombolian activity at the New Southeast Crater, has continued for the last 5 days. Going back to study those charts. I thought she would have one last night.
