Coronation Street 's Michael Le Vell charged with child rape

I just found this on the BBC news app

Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell has been charged with a string of sex offences, including raping a child. Greater Manchester Police said he is also accused of indecently assaulting a child and sexual activity with a child. The actor, 48, who plays Kevin Webster in the ITV1 soap, faces a total of 19 charges relating to crimes allegedly committed between 2001 and 2010. Mr Le Vell, whose real name is Michael Turner, is due before magistrates in Manchester on 27 February.

Just read about this and once again Iam shocked, I played pool with the fella a few times in Manchester and he appeared a decent lad BUT he has been accused so let the courts decide, innocent before proven guilty etc.

There have been a few ex members of the cast that have also over the years been charged with sexual offences.
It's my wife's fav show and she drags me shouting and cursing to watch it as well......I like it, but don't say I said this

You would think with the money and fame they get would be enough, but seemingly not.

That's him with 19 counts and surely they can't all be wrong? He will be finished now, never mind the children he abused. They should castrate him and in jail, let him be among the general population......if found guilty that is.

Innocent until proved guilty, usually....

He was charged before with similar things but let off for some reason. What makes people do these things? It's beyond me. Sick is too little a word....

Hang on OP, they are allegations at this point, you've accused and convicted him.

Reason, 19 counts.

Well thats good to know, if I want someone to die in the mud, I'll make up more than 15 charges against them, and then people will go "Yeah, but more than 15? He has to be guilty." and I'll have done my evil deed.

Nothing worse than being a pedophile other than being wrongly accused of being a pedophile, it destroys everything as we all know that the mud sticks.

I haven't accused and convicted him, as the Daily Record newspaper here says:

He was first arrested in September 2011 and questioned over alleged child sex offences, but the matter was later dropped.

So they must have something to charge him with, look at Jimmy Saville, Gary Glitter etc, they are all charged as paedophiles as he has been done as well.
Would you let your young children play with someone that had been charged with 19 child offences including rape? Don't think so. These are serious charges he faces....

From The Sun newspaper:

The charges followed a review of the evidence by the Crown Prosecution Service. It is believed a relative of an alleged victim demanded the CPS review their original decision not to prosecute the actor, 48. The star was released on police bail and is due to appear in court on February 27. After being arrested at his £750,000 home in Hale, Cheshire, in 2011, Le Vell said: “I strenuously deny these allegations and will do everything in my power to prove my innocence.” In the wake of the allegations it emerged that Le Vell — who has been in Coronation Street for 30 years — had split with actress wife Janette Beverley. Now if he can still get hold of the lawyer that cleared Len Fairclough

Then the street can continue, as normal, just like the BBC

It's time to get rid, and it seems to be happening, slowly but surely.

I heard about this months ago and was surprised to keep seeing him on Corry. I heard it had something to do with his own daughter, but could be wrong.

I hope the posters who thought he was guilty now feel thoroughly ashamed.

Well we can only go on what he was charged with and respect the courts decision. Mud sticks though unfortunately and he will have this hanging over him for a long time.....

Exactly why people accused of sex crimes should not be publicly-named until a guilty verdict is delivered.

Perhaps because he was innocent?
