I'm not taking either side in this, but I do have to say that all of us, mainly those of us who are male cannot deny, that sometimes, under certain situations, a MF just needs to be smacked in his face to hit his reset button after some stupid behavior.. I think Kierkegaard said it first..

So....if the motorcyclist caused other accidents or injured people during the high speed chase.....before he "voluntarily surrenders", it's your opinion that police officers must place their human emotions aside and be ROBOCOPS.

Hands up? Treat with respect.

Hands up is usually interpreted as surrender, aka agreement to detain. Police job is to detain, not to use corporal punishment, or any punishment, that's up to the courts. It is yet another example of out of control police.

I've come to wonder what the point is in commenting but here I am again doing it.

If you forget what you were taught by the Boob-Tube and realize the Lone Ranger, Paladin, Superman and all those noble and honorable people and role models were just Boob Tube Characters and in the real world, the police abuse, beat and murder people...probably everyday. I am sure there are exceptions; that there are some really very good men and women in law enforcement but they in fact accessories to crimes committed by those who are not. Do you know what an "Accessory" is?

AC CES SORY
a : a person not actually or constructively present but contributing as an assistant or instigator to the commission of an offense —called also accessory before the fact
b : a person who knowing that a crime has been committed aids or shelters the offender with intent to defeat justice —called also accessory after the fact

So, the next time you want to defend Law Enforcement and point out what great guys/gals they are, remember that unless they function in some kind of dream-like bubble, they are all "Accessories" before and after the fact to every kind of crime against human beings imaginable.

This fact being clear in your minds, so called law enforcement rarely ever protects anyone or prevents a crime but, they do supposedly help to punish criminals; punishment that usually costs us all far far more than than the crime; e.g. a man steals your car worth $20,0000, is caught and sent to prison for 5 years. Let's say your car was never recovered and the insurance never covered your loss so, you as the victim are out $20,000 and the time, energy and trauma. Meanwhile, we as tax payers will spend hundred of thousands of dollars Jailing, Prosecuting and Imprisoning the man and over his 5 year prison term will cost us around $60,000 a year.

I could have used a loaf of bread, as there are people who have been sent to prison for such but I did not want to cloud your heads with trivia.

If your home is burglarized and you call the police and you have anything suspicious in your home, odds are it is you who will be arrested and you who will have to prove that you are innocent.

If you are pulled over for speeding and given a ticket, it will not make our streets safer, you will speed again, not buckle up, use your cellphone, make a rolling stop at the stop sign but the Highway Patrol/Sheriff that gave you the ticket will have been given the means to extort hundreds of dollars from you.

Sheriff Andy Taylor and Deputy Barney Fife were only TV Characters; the police we deal with on our streets are just as thugs, robbers and murderers as any criminal you will encounter and if you think I am nuts or bluffing, try mentioning your Constitutional Rights or try to stand up for yourself the next time you are in the sights of law enforcement.

And the next time you are called for Jury Duty and the judge asks you if you would be bias in a case dealing with armed robbery and you have been the victim of an armed robbery and tell the judge so and that you are not sure you can be unbiased, don't be surprised to learn that the judge is really just going through the motions of selecting a proper jury both the defense and prosecution will accept and in truth, he is just running their business and does not give a damn if some corners are cut. That Judge, he too is an Accessory but then, if you are one of those who defends and/or will defend so called Law Enforcement and this Judicial System, you also are an Accessory.

Do you approve of those that work in customer related professions to smack their customers in the face when they get abusive and unruly with stupid behavior? Do you agree with the boss when he says, if you can't handle the responsibilities of the job, then find another job?

Care to show me where in their job description, cops are allowed to act as judge, jury and executioner of punishments, or just plain dishing out their frustrations on tax paying citizens?

They have a job to bring people to justice, not dish out justice. If they can't handle that, then find a different job.

Some law breaking a-hole who put peoples lives at real risk got smacked in the face. I'm not losing a second of sleep over that fact....... Bad things happen everyday, you have the right to choose who you align yourself with, in this case I will take the cop over the POS perp who very really in actuality could have killed innocent people. Simple as that. He got exactly what his Momma or Daddy should have given him 15 years ago when explaining to him how to act like a civilized human in public. These are the most basic of rules we demand of you in our society, if you cannot act like a responsible adult, do not cry when you are spanked.....

Ugh. It's shameful to me to see so many people that welcome police brutality and a loss of freedoms with open arms. Its no different than those that say the police were justified in burning Dorner.

Should these people have to answer for their alleged crimes? You bet. If they are found guilty, they absolutely should. But that isnt up to cops.

It scares me to think about how far gone things will be in 10 years.

Unfortunately this doesn't just happen in America, it happens here in the UK too, and I can bet anything it happens elsewhere around the world.

There are a hell of a lot of officers that take their position as a licence to beat a con senseless and often even the innocent when they've had a bad day, much more than is ever recorded anyhow.
They may think they are in the right because the victim was on the wrong side of the law.
However. no violence except to peacefully restrain the offender with the least amount of force needed to accomplish the capture and detainment is protocol.
They took their anger and frustration out on the offender due to the time it took to chase him down and catch him, as far as I'm concerned that is out of order and goes way beyond what is deemed an acceptable take down. I hope he gets a nice payout and the officers get fired or at least suspended for abusive and unnecessary arrest tactics. Seems to me everyone in the video is a criminal....

The bottom line is a police's job is to use the minimal force necessary. Problem is, 'necessary force' is a term than has been stretched beyond its limits so many times that it is now accepted that a cop can beat you senseless if you dont do exactly as they like.

Its now as much about a show of force, as it is subduing a suspect.

In 10 years thanks to spineless Liberals who take no responsibility for their own actions a law abiding, concealed carry individual such as myself, will not according to your understanding of life in general be a able to draw my own legal gun and shoot someone in the face whom I just witnessed murder another individual. That is the ridiculousness of your logic. In your world I would need to wait for the law to take it's course. Stupid much?

1)Could you be any more rude?

2)Are you a cop? If not, what I said is not about you whatsoever, and your comment is irrelevant to the topic. "Stupid much"?

3)You are not a judge or jury. It is not up to you to hand out the death penalty. So no, you shouldnt have the right to shoot someone in the face because you witnessed something. The right to defend against the attack that you witnessed, or to detain the suspect until cops arrive? You know it. But not to shoot the person in the face. Its called civilized society.

4)Comparing police brutality to witnessing a murder is asinine beyond comprehension.

5)From your post its fairly clear that you defend the police's right to use excessive force. You also state, flat out, that police are like our parents. You have no right to lecture on freedom.

6)Do you understand the hypocrisy of you're saying that you are a law abiding gun owner and then following it up by saying you do not respect the legal system?

Sooo...the guy shows them the white flag and surrenders by putting his hands up. At the very same second the super hyped out cop shouts "GET YOUR HANDS UP MOTHER F'ER" and then "GET ON THE GROUND" Then he goes on to grab his neck and tackle him to the ground. Now the crazy hyped out cop shouts "get on your stomach or i´ll *beep* kill you" (classy police, threatening to kill somebody) THEN they order him to put his hands on his head AND then a moment later he's ordered to give them his hands now..lol which one is it??

At this point in the video the cop to the right starts repeatedly beating up the guy, the cop on the left throws a jab too. They gang up on him and give him a beating together, shout at him like some hysterical crazies to give'em his hands again then more cops join up and he's told to GET ON THE GROUND?? o__0 HE'S LAYING ON THE GROUND and he's actually got a cop beating him up at that very same moment. They say he's not following their instructions, I see a man who's gone all survival mode. Of course you're not going to lay still while some angry ass hooligans are pounding on your face. Like been said here your instinct would be to try to defend yourself, that's just basics. This is just so wrong on so many levels. Plus these cops must be idiots to give him that beating when they knew they were being recorded. I'm just amazed it got released online.

People in power positions who abuse their powers are the worst, we as a society are supposed to be able to trust those guys. When things go wrong in our life those are the guys we are supposed to talk to, but as the days go by, the more police brutality we see and the harder it gets to trust a cop. It's a real shame too because not all cops are bad but it's those rotten apples that are ruining it for everybody else. I think there should be a zero-tolerance policy within the police department so if a person gets busted for police brutality they should get fired from the force and never again be able to serve and "protect".

I doubt we´ll ever get rid of crooked cops but at least if the punishment were stronger towards them activities like this one would hopefully decrease.

Exactly!!! No excessive violence is necessary, unless the guy pulled out a gun and needed a rubber bullet to stop him in his tracks which I don't see here, then violence to that extent was very unnecessary! They put mattresses over cons they don't like or won't talk here and beat and sometimes break their bones even but it leaves no assault bruising. There's lots of stories I can tell you about the UK cops. Shameful!!!

Were we not taught at school and at home that using unnecessary force and physically abusing someone to make them do as you say was bullying? Obviously some of these officers had glue in their ears during those life lessons... What goes around comes around though, karma always bites you in the butt when you go around treating others like something you just wiped off your shoe.
People in a position of power should set by example, violent crime is the worst of all crime categories, yet these officers are no better than vigilantly criminals.

You talk about the rule of law "most basic of rules" and acting responsibly but yet give a pass to those that infringed upon and disobeyed those rules as well and acted irresponsibly in regards to the duties we tax paying citizens pay them for.

Perhaps we should throw all the rules out the window as you seem to wish and let the free market settle differences and disputes and see how that works.

That is the lesson being taught here, where cops take the law into their own hands, rather than enforcing the laws and bringing people to justice, they serve it. Lets get rid of all the laws and police and let people take matters into their own hands.

im sorry but i have to side with the cops on this one i hate high speed chases, more often than not innocent bystanders are the ones that get hurt or at the very least inconvenienced.

The question though is do cops have the right to punish anyone just because they are mad that a citizen might have tried to flee them? Is this really what the law says???, that punishment can legally be meted out just because soemone has pissed you off and maybe offended your ego?. I don't think so.

AS I have said before there was a yong man just recently murdered by local cops here because he 'resisted' by not putting down his cell phone fast enough and he was electrocuted to death because of it. The city had to pay out a couple of million but obviously it didn't bring the young man back. I guess it's hard for me to understand such small egos that would kill a man just because he has 'disrespected' you. I can maybe understand that mentality in perhaps L.A. or N.Y. steeet gangs but from 'professionsals' that are supposed to be screened for the jobs they do, not so much.

Boy this thread nailed it, the problem in this country is the cops. No the a-holes who drive drunk or under the influence and kill people on a daily basis or evade the police in high speed chases killing innocent individuals who never did anything wrong in their lives, or who shoot randomly at crowds murdering innocent people every single f-ing day, it's the cops obviously. All of you keyboard freedom activist should lose someone you love to one of these scumbags then see exactly how threatened your rights are because a cop gave a love tap to some worthless scumbag who just threatened his life.... Did your parents tell you you were special too and you got he trophy for just showing up, because no one in this world has the right to ever ever touch you Billy, right..... (rolls eyes)

I guarantee you this scumbag wont lead the police on another high speed chase, where statistics say he WILL kill someone again given his behavior, personally I would knocked his block off, and any ACLU fairy who disagrees,.

In any case when that happens to you. Just lay there limply, take a beating and DO NOT RESIST.

Its kinda hard to lay limp when you have a couple million volts going thru your body. Your muscles stiffen like your having a seizures. To say he's resisting while getting electrocuted is an oxymoron...

You're missing the point, and its a little sad.

No one in this thread is defending drunken driving or leading high speed chases. Anyone will admit that those things are not good. That in no way gives the cops the right to use excessive force.

who shoot randomly at crowds murdering innocent people every single f-ing day, it's the cops obviously.

You once again bring up an argument like this, even though it has no bearing on the topic whatsoever. If you want them though, the statistics are out there for you to see that yes, cops shoot innocent people too.

All of you keyboard freedom activist should lose someone you love to one of these scumbags

Your attempt to play on emotions is silly. Ive lost more people in my life than you could probably handle. Some in very tragic ways. Doesnt change a darn thing. Cops are not there to hand out punishment. Period. Any other argument is anti-constitutional, and should not be tolerated.

because a cop gave a love tap to some worthless scumbag who just threatened his life

Nice marginalization of a pretty hardcore beating. The suspect did not threaten the cops life. He put him in a dangerous situation by making him chase, but he did not threaten the cop.

Did your parents tell you you were special too and you got he trophy for just showing up, because no one in this world has the right to ever ever touch you Billy, right

This is incoherent.

I guarantee you this scumbag wont lead the police on another high speed chase, where statistics say he WILL kill someone again given his behavior, personally I would knocked his block off, and any ACLU fairy who disagrees,.

Please source these statistics. What a bunch of bunk.

The point, once again, that is going completely over your head, is that no one is defending the driver's actions. They are calling out the excessive actions by the cops.

No you miss the point. I think a reasonable presence on the roads by LE to tryand keep drunkdrivers off of the road is probably not a bad thing, but the idea that a cop or group of them should beat someone up, when they are no longer a threat reeks of vigilantism. Cops IMO overstep their legal bounds when they feel they need to go PAST apprehending a suspect and take on the role of punisher. Let's drop pretenses and really admit this is what we are talking about, If anyone defends cops meteing out punishment on the spot once one has been appprehended and no longer a threat then why not just have the guts to state your position honestly.
