How is this not scientific? And if they did it without an astronaut, where did the "secret launch" come from? All the Saturn V rockets were accounted for, and you can't hide a rocket launch.

That may be the case. That still is no argument against the original story.

I´m sorry but I do not get your point. Are you saying the motivation for the hoax is the installation of another "star wars" type program? Haven´t we been through this? A system like that is mainly for preventing enemy action than anything else. If it´s a secret, it´s crap!

If that makes you happy, sure. It´s a fact. It´s a fact that it´s possible to have placed them there with an unmanned mission in the 60s.

But a possibility is not automatically a reality though.

All the facts about the moon landing known today considered, a hoax is more than highly unlikely.

Plus the question still stands why they introduced it into the picture in the first place? It didn´t really add to the story as far as the public is concerned.

And where did they put any military hardware in the capsule? And when did they launch it? There are so many holes in this theory I could drive my truck through them.

Yes I get all that. But what on earth is wrong with the following:

The fine reasons you mentioned are why the astronauts took the reflectors with them? Just as the original story says.

Everybody is happy.

I understand the need for the reflectors. What I do not understand is the need for the original nasa mission to not have brought them there.

They didn't need to use the laser to facilitate targeting data. And how could it? It works to show distance from the moon to the earth, not between two cities as you claimed in your other post (oh wait, that was your other handle sorry). They have satellites in earth orbit that show distance between two cities much better than this method.
