candle smoke

i must admit very few strange things have to me personally.one thing that did happen was being awoke every night for a period of weeks by the cry of babies,and the smell of candle smoke.it scared the crap out of me at the time,but now i have to wonder.could someone have been practicing something against me?i dont know much about witchcraft,but is this something within their realm?there is more to this story but i would like my question answered first.could this have been witchcraft?

Maybe a baby died in a fire...what kinda land do you live on...urban, suburban, rural, old cemetary, indian burial grounds...do you know?
