A Mysterious Stone With Mysterious Alien Inscriptions
A citizen of Kupang NTT, Willi Soeharly is in possession of some photographs that are thought to be artefacts from a UFO. A stone that was
photographed originated from the home of the late C. A. Castillo, a geological researcher of Spanish origin who lived in Kupang. He died in 1994.
The stone was found by the late Castillo in his investigations in Bukit Setan (Devil's Hill), Oesu’u – in the district of Kupang. In a cave-like
area he found a pile of stones with strange shapes. He tried to break some of them but they were very hard.
The mysterious stone was shaped as if it was of two pieces bound together and on it were pictures of stars, the sun, and a person who seems to be
pointing upwards. There was also an arrow pointing towards a star.
According to Willy who is now a coordinator for a team of investigators for the BETA-UFO team in Kupang and surrounding areas, the stone is magnetic
and is also thought to contain radioactive substances. According to an email from Willy that was submitted to a group of Indonesian UFO observers
(BETA-UFO), Castillo died in old age of an (unspecified) illness.
The stone was obtained from Bukit Nitnai (Nitani Hill, now known as Devil's Hill – ed.) in 1992 where is found traces of scorched earth as well as
three black spots forming a triangle, the distance between each spot being about 3 – 4 metres. According to him this was the landing spot of the
UFO.
The place has been examined but because of erosion, the dark spots as mentioned by the late Castillo are no longer there. Only traces of what appears
to be scorched earth are found and they have hardened to rock like consistency.
Local people say that from the 1980s until the 1990s they saw bright lights of approximately 1 metre length among the trees around Bukit Nitnai, the
aforementioned Devil's Hill. The lights were shining so brightly even though this area was not served by electricity, leading the locals into
believing that they were manifestations of the devil, and so the name given to the hill, Devil's Hill.
The local co-oridnation for the site is 10.153375 S, 123.800158333 E
After Castillo's death the stone was kept at his house by his family. When Willy was about to photograph it, Castillo's widow warned him that his
camera might be damaged because previous attempts to photograph the mysterious stone had resulted in the camera being damaged. But Willy photographed
it successfully with his cellular phone, a Nokia N73.
According to the late Castillo, locals often sighted these mysterious objects descending like neon lights on Devil's Hill. He added that Devil's
Hill was also rich in uranium deposits. The mining office confirmed this to Willy, saying that the mineral was not yet ready for extraction.
Willy also said that a UFO sighting was also made in Perumnas Oebobo, Kupang, in 1993. It appeared that this was a regular phenomenon but after 1993
no further sightings were made.
Further, in around 1983, a sand miner in the region of Ngilmina, between the districts of Kupang and Timor Tengah Selatan was shone upon by a
mysterious light. According to the story, three men were mining sand at the time when suddenly one of them was illuminated by a bright light. After
the incident the man became fearful of lighting up his electronic equipment.
The stone is small, about the size of two fists. It is now kept by Alfred, son of the late Mr Castillo.
Of interest is that, since the mysterious stone was kept in Castillo's house, a UFO in the shape of a saucer of approximately 5 – 7 metres with
blue lights in its bottom has been seen in the area.
The said object was flying low, at about the height of an electrical pole, and it was seen to be wobbling back and forth. And then suddenly it shot up
silently and disappeared.
