Thanks for the wikipedia link, I've never read that or the article in the German magazine. And the follow-up by Pope John Paul II at the shrine. Thanks.

As Bill Nye, the science guy (and Phage - and no, I don't think Phage is Bill Nye. Although...), said, we don't have to worry about this asteroid. But...

Ok, I'm nicely correcting you since you were wrong. The asteroid is 65 meters(recently upgraded from 45 meters) not 150 meters. It would not strike the ocean (thus no tidal wave), in fact, travelling at that speed the stony asteroid (Nick Moskovitz at MIT has obtained an IR spectrum of DA14, and it is an L-class object, that means a stony composition) would explode prior to it actually hitting earth. Therefore, if it were to enter our atmosphere it could generate something similar to a Tunguska event.

Yes. Im saying everything is made up of atoms, which have electrons. So something that is made up of atoms, it made up of electrons, protons, neutrons, neutrinos, quarks, bosons, and other quantum sized particles

What are the electrons made of? Is it turtles all the way down?

Yes, because you appear to have failed to understand what the 21st was about and only heard the people who should have been easy to ignore.

Keep watching the movie, it's gonna keep getting better.

I'm pretty sure the pope was about to be arrested and the Vatican's property seized in its entirety. This will happen regardless of what the pope does.

If you say so. It's more of the same old same old. You're just trying to whip up hysteria.

It doesn't work on everybody.

I'm absolutely not trying to whip up hysteria (interesting statement considering you know nothing of my perspective and didn't take the moment to ask). Those are the very people I'm saying should have been easy to ignore.

By paying attention to them you've missed out on what has and is continuing to really go on and what role the 21st played in it.

Remember, Vatican City has been a nation ever since 1929, so it would be difficult to legally seize everything in that nation and all the nation's assets. While not one of the oldest countries in the world (they get to make and sell their own stamps!), the country is well established. Any officials who would be seen as attacking and/or seizing the Vatican's stuff would have to fight the Swiss Guard in mortal hand-to-hand combat. And why don't you need a passport to get into St. Peter's square? Or have to clear customs?

And you assume I'm blind.

We are powerless to stop what is "written". I don't say that in the Biblical sense.

What happens is beyond religion. People have no idea.

Well if that were to happen the prophecy this thread is dedicated to would be fulfilled.

I assumed nothing.

If you "hoped all this silliness" was going to stop with the 21st, then yes you *are* blind to what is unfolding. If you understood you would have already recognized and accepted it was just going to increase... and why.

Sorry about that. That was kind of mean.

All I'm saying is year after year people whip up the whitecaps for these doomsday dates. As someone who thinks logically and doesn't get wound up, I'm getting tired of all this talk of terrible things coming and escalations of whatever.

We all need to give it a rest and take life as it comes because what's happening now has happened a thousand times before. Nothing we do will change what is going to happen.

We don't wield that kind of power.

For anyone that thinks there is no conspiracy connected with the Pope stepping down is fooling themselves,
It's a lifetime job, I can think of only 5 scenarios in which the Pope would step down;

1. He's in Ill health, sick, old, and feels because he cannot travel far or appear before people a few times a year that he isn't fit for the position.

Translation: Sin of Vanity. More evidence of this may be the $10,000.00 bottle of Pope perfume designed and commissioned by the Pope.

news.yahoo.com...

All previous Pope's knew the position could be filled even when deathly ill and bedridden, this Pope must be vain if he thinks poor health is a legitimate excuse because all previous Pope's never used ill-health as an excuse, they knew their bedridden death sentence did not take away their 'keys' of the Church, therefore their existence still filled the role even if they could not appear before the people they could still fill the role of the Papacy.

2. He is being bribed/pushed aside/threatened by the secret corrupt controllers of the Vatican.

3. He is being threatened by the devil himself.

4. He wants to choose the next Pope (through influence) either for righteous or unrighteous purposes.

5. He sinned a great sin and feels self-conscious about it.

These are the only 5 scenarios I can think of, I think one or a combination of a few of these is the real reason, but if it's simply his health he has apparently never watched the movie Pope Joan, the movie about the female Pope, don't know if that story is bogus or not but what is not bogus is John Goodman's character, as an ill-health Pope, lived out his term bedridden and sick to the death like it should be (even though Goodman's character participated in sins he still lived out his Papal term for life), I think that movie was anti-Catholic which is why they embellished the negative aspects of a Pope but one message from that movie rings clear, you are Pope til death. If anyone else has any further reasons feel free to add, I would say the Vatileaks thing likely was not a reason, the Pope already forgave that guy that leaked the Vatican documents, and from what I've read, they are not that revealing, more like boring political documents that are only interesting to someone who is already anti-Catholic.
No huge scandal was exposed in those docs that I have been able to find.

How about

1. He's tired and ill.

2. He's known to be a very humble man.

3. He made a decision that was sensible for himself and the Church.

4. He is comfortable with his decision knowing that the Church will move forward in younger, stronger hands.
