What is an anti semetic comment?

My 16 year old son was talking on the bus about various things like what kind of woman would choose to be a Nun to Stalin. My son had positive things to say about Stalin. A 15 year old near by blurted out that he was Jewish. My son replied "I don't care". The offended Jew threw his binder, instrument and eye glasses at my son then came toward my son with his shoe laces removed from his shoes prepared to strangle him before the driver was able to tackle him down. My son, who didn't fight back, served one day detention for an anti sematic comment. The other kid got nothing. O tolerance must not apply to hostile Jews.
The comment of "I don't care" is neither here nor there. If I don't care about something it means I am not for or against it. Stalin may have been a bad man, Manson was as well, I too am impressed by his ability to convince masses of people that putting Jews in a camp is a good thing. I am dumbfounded how the masses could be so stupid. My son would love to aquire the ability to persuade the people around him to do as he wants. He is drawn to that kind of power but is he anti semetic?
If anyone is interested, his Nun theory was that only ugly girls who can't get laid become Nuns. His Catholic principle, who interviewed many people on the bus about the conversation between my son and his friend, asked my son why he thinks Nuns are virgins.

I can't really see the context without hearing the rest of the convo.

Was the kid saying that Stalin was Jewish or could he have been talking about the other kid on the bus being Jewish? Your son could have possibly said something 'offensive' and replied back saying 'i don't care' in regards to the other kid on the bus...

As I see it "I don't care" is in NO WAY anti-semitic unless it was condoning some kind of put down

On topic: I don't care taken by itself seems neutral.
I don't know of Stalin putting Hebrews in camps. Hitler did I know, did Stalin do it as well?

(Slightly) Off topic: If you were to research convents, over the past couple thousand years, you could quickly prove to your son how wrong his beliefs are in regards to nuns.

It doesn't matter if he made an anti-semitic comment or not, everyone is entitled to free speech, and obviously your son's school doesn't agree with that.

Your son was assaulted, I would contact local law enforcement and inform them of the incident. Insulting someone's religious sensibilities doesn't warrant a physical attack. The other child's "feelings" don't give him free reign to become physically violent.

If the school is a private institution, then they're free to lay down any rules they like, a public school however has no jurisdiction when it comes to restricting the free speech of their students.

It's time to stop treating school kids as if they're second-class citizens as soon as they walk into the building, your son has rights, whether they believe it or not.

First of all, the kid that started the fight should've been suspended, no matter what the comment was, these schools are so f***ed.

I think what was said was that Stalin was Neo political Jew captured somewhere around Lake Tahoe and was mistakenly transported to a concentration camp; the sister camp to Chemno; Chuckles, Poland. A secularized Nazi Nuns ONLY camp. No allies, Jesuit Marine Corp. riding to the rescue; Virgins galore but no touchy. Without having any boot making, wool tailering skills and no Yellow School Buses to board died of protestation (some say he commited suicide).

This is a very true story. The public school did not go into detail of what he said exactly. I will call the school tomorrow. I only have my sons side of the story and the detention slip. My son has nothing against the jews. He doesn't care about what religion a person is. He does like to play Fiesta and Skyrim which by what I know to be battle games. He loves strategy games with all the military planning involved and Syalin, Hitler and Ghingus Khan are impressive people..

His comment came after the kid said he was a Jew and the principle said once the kid informed him he should have said nothing. The principle said he had a right to his opinions and a right to express them but the minute someone takes offence he has to change the subject. I think there is a fine line between expressing an opinion and harrassing.

We are not free in America.

If you admire any aspect of a "bad" or "evil" man (Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini etc.), you are punished.

If you voice reservations about the US' attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya, you are a "terrorist sympathizer".

The establishment has decided which opinions are acceptable and which ones are forbidden.

If he has to change the subject as soon as someone becomes offended by his opinion, then he effectively has no right to express his opinions at all.

You either have the right, or you don't, there isn't some wishy washy middle-ground when it comes to freedom of expression.

My son defended Stalin who was a Russian leader. Stalin killed many people of all faiths and I believe at one point he agreed with Hitlers philosophy. Because of Stalins affiliation with Hitler and Hitlers destuction of Hebrews and everyone who supports Hebrews, the Jewish child took offence.

For all I know my son sees socialism as a good thing but does it really have anything to do with the Jews? My son said they weren't talking about jews they were talking about the Soviet Union. USSR. When the kid said he was a Jew my son was like so? Instead of saying " so" He said "I don't care." That is the context my son said happen.

I agree that we can be shunned by society for ideas that do not conform to the ideas of that society. I believe we are brainwashed from birth. When I was young I was taught that black people were just like we were but I was not to play with them. Society changed and it became alright to create a friendship. When I was in the service Soviets were cold, cruel murderers. Now, things have changed. I am not in the position of challenging my sons ideas because he is good at history and who am I to say that a One World Government does not equate to Heaven on earth?

I also agree the We The People have lost our free speech. Our ability to speak our minds has been tweaked the same way Obama wants to tweak our weapons. As the saying goes, Give an inch they will take the foot and the leg with it.

It was just idol guy talk. My son has never seen a nun. I threatened to make him watch an episode of The Flying Nun. There will be a day when an ugly girl will look good to him.

Next time the subject gets brought up, tell him to ask the Jewish kid what he thinks of Zionism and their role in WW2
Can he be called anti-semitic for pointing out self proclaimed semites being anti-semetic?

I'm a guy, with an ex nun for a mother. Forgive me if this strikes near to my heart.
I am glad your son is speaking his mind and beliefs, but you as parent should be a part of him learning the truth.

Um... I think that kid probably owes Stalin a shout out. You know how many Russians died fighting the Nazis? More than the Jewish people by about six million.

Not saying that Stalin was a great guy nor a friend of the Jewish people but, dang, some credit is due when they are taking the same bullets as you.

What the fruit?? i don't give a sh*t, no one is receiving special treatment, no exception!. If i have some i disagree with history and about Jews i will say it, same with Muslims, Hindus, Christians and flying spaghetti monster.

America is catering too much to them, and from one comment it seems Europe is too. People are fed with exaggerated holocaust numbers and its at a point where its a taboo to talk about it.

I wanna see someone fine me for "being anti-Semitic" in real life, i sure will have fun with that.
