Nevermind I got it to work now. My sister won't kill me.

I'm not letting her take any of my gaming machines.

She calls me greedy.
I have 3 gaming machines and I'm giving her a gateway.

I think I just need to change the pins around and call her drive as master.

red screen o death usually is screen or graphics card,

Yeah, it had 2 drives plus another hard drive and I took all them out and only put a dvd and hard drive in there.. Takes awhile for it to load but it's up now.

When it loads it still runs through looking for a drive though. I just have to go into bios and call which one a master drive and that should take care of that problem.

Do I have to? You know how long it took me just get her demands to switch out the drives. Now you want me to call master to slave and fix her sound.

OMG the world is going to end.

BTW, anyone hear that huge boom noise outside?

protip,
in device manager,

it uses the device id#n to seek for Microsoft cert drivers

let it do its own thing if the updated driver is available it will find it and install it

i dont trust third parties for drivers,
and windows has built in support,
why trust more parties than ya have to right?

was the sound working before you starting playing around with your box?
i would try driver, then if no go reseat the sound card,
or just unplug and replug in the speakers

I don't feel like messing with it.

But the driver did download through the microsoft thing and it would help if I plugged the speakers back in.

speakers work better pluged in

drivers work better from microsoft,
hard drives should be slaves, except the master
