Looks metallic. Interesting lines. Probably natural, but it also looks manufactured. Straight line, with a circle etched on the end. I'm not saying this couldn't be made naturally, just interesting. Have they officially stated metals found on surface yet ? Could be odd rock, but sure looks metallic.

Are we raping this thread now????
Any data you can share about the picture you found?

Raping this thread ? Bit harsh isn't it ? I suspect the OP has an interest in mars images, so I assumed some more images would be on topic. Was I wrong ?

As for extra information about the image........of course not, its from the source I posted. I can tell you where I was sitting and what colour of jumper i was wearing at the time, any help ?

There are a few thousand Mars images from Curiosity already. Can you please give us more information about the one you posted (i.e., what makes it special?)

No, everybody has been too busy talking about lizards and rocks instead of looking for more odd things.

Very strange.

Why do you say that?

Well It looks special to me because it's metallic looking. It has A line running from left to right, then terminates in a corner and returns back to the ground with another line, below which is a faint circle, then 2 more arcs, that could be 2 more circles as the metal returns back to the earth. Give me 2 minutes I'll highlight what I'm talking about.

It's only my opinion, but I would imagine that metal jutting out from the surface would be of equel interest to a lizard shaped rock / rock shaped lizard.

I hadn't heard anything about metal being found poking out of the ground, I think it's special if there is, don't you ?

well whatever it is it sure looks out of the picture, shiny, different color. I do think howevert that it is embeded in the rock, so it could be a crystal or some sort of metal coming out of that rock. I don't think it's a lizard or any living thing.

nice catch tho OP

That is the thing that is catching, an anomaly of shiny stone/whatever, in an area of mostly dust, and rock mainly covered by dust, or you could say most of the rock type covered by dust, except those two 'shiny bits' No doubt an area of interest for NASA no matter how mundane or not, it may turn out to be, pebbles on the beach, so to speak.

Finding metal would be a first, that's for sure, but I think that's just a shiny rock. Some are easily polished by the wind and sand.

This is what I mean. Not saying it is, just interesting. I love the whole curiosity thing, I collect naturally formed metals too. I know that nature can create stunning metal shapes. Great to see them on mars too if they are there.

Sorry to the OP if I redirected the thread for a spell, It isn't my intention to derail it, just wanted to add what I had found, didn't seem worthy of it's own thread.

This one is interesting too!

This picture is the most interesting pic I've seen to date*.
I'm no expert but I have downloaded many a gigapan
because I love this endeavor, and this one is my fave.

*Most interesting because it reminds me of a tree or mars equivalents' root system.
Now fossilized or calcified remnants maybe?

We've sent a Drone Laboratory millions of miles away to land and drive
around on a planet. And presently we are clicking off video,
as well as drilling and analyzing everything, left and right. It may be a lonely explorer
but this is big in human history. Obviously..

It's just them testing the drill - in percussive mode. They're tapping the rock with the dill-bit a bunch of times:

Case solved.
Nothing strange about it.

it's a rock, for the 100000th time if there were pictures of something living on mars, we would never get to see them.

Its a mars lizard....

What? There can't be some kind of life on mars? I am sure something there has adapted to the environment over these many millions of years , just because we cant breath the air doesn't mean that little guy can't if indeed it is some kind of marsling......

Well with all due respect to the OP, we humans can see anything in the random forms of these rocks. In fact in this same panorama, I see what looks like an octopus hiding among the rocks, on the surface. Being a Mars octopus it has the ability to match the color and texture of its surroundings (like their cousins here on Earth), however, they are dry-land creatures, that feed upon UV rays during the day and are only active at night.

Amazing!!! Wow!!!

If there is anything that I know, it seems sheer stupidity to call it a rock.

It does look like a copy and pasted silver ford bronco with a tire in the back. on the top to cover up the face of the possible animal etc. by nasa. You may laugh but i'll bet nasa isn't laughing.

To think every thing is rocks and dirt and not have a clue means the rockers are playing the three monkeys. They don't want to see it believe it or speak it. Almost like the mormons believing the book of mormon is true when there is so much evidence that it would be found guilty in a court of law for fraud.

Very interesting - looks to be different material to me. Perhaps a formed shape, or a naturally occurring shape, guess we won't know until a closer examination. Great find OP thanks for sharing it.

Gee your right. It has to be something else because NASA would never cover up an image of a alien. Also it's so silly to think its a rock, I mean out of all the other countless rocks lying around it just HAS to be a ET

Just enough "typo's" in the description to get my attention....

I should learn to NOT do that :-)
