Boeing 707 anyone?

Whilst not strictly a copy, it is a fact that the cancellation of the Y10, far from being a great loss, was precisely because it was in the same class as the 707 and thus already obsolete when it first flew. It was never meant to be a serious contender, more an eklaborate engineering excercise which succeeded in its aims.
