Christian reads Quran
"My Year-Long Endeavor to Better Understand Islam"

I found this blog called a few days ago and felt it needed to be posted here.

The blogger is a Christian who describes himself as "a devoted follower of Jesus, committed husband, doting father, and hard-working private high school teacher of religion". He has read the Koran over the course of a year and has done a brilliant job in writing an objective analysis of it.

While he admits he is biased, he refrains from the baseless Islam is of the devil or "Allah is the moon-god" rhetoric that many Christians use in discussions about Islam. Instead he offers a rather objective commentary on various subjects in the Koran... such as Judgement day, heaven and hell, wealth, relationships etc. in a very objective and non-confrontational way.

I personally think he has a very open-minded approach to the Koran and would recommend his blog to anybody interested.

I still think:-

*Allah is the moon god
*Islam is out there to destroy all other religion
*Islam encourages hatred towards Jews and Christians.

The Religion Of Peace

However it is interesting to see muslims trying to avoid such things.

Please, just in your mind, do the following exercise: Replace every mentioning of "Islam" or "Allah" with the name of your favored religion. It will still fit.

Every religion wants every other religion dead and forgotten.

This is a fact, the core of "you shall have no other gods beside me" and something like this is a central part of every religion ever to have more than a few followers.

And you, like everybody else... are entitled to your thoughts.

Yes but somebody made this statement :-

Every religion wants every other religion dead and forgotten.

So I am asking that somebody to prove his point like a man and not to run away.

Now please prove how Christianity 'wants every other religion dead and forgotten.'

Ok now lets move on to the next religion 'Buddhism'.

Now please prove how Buddhism wants every religion killed/destroyed?

After reading his blog I realized he is making the same mistake that so many make.

You'll never understand a religion by reading what the religion has written...

If you want to understand Scientology, the LAST way to do that is by reading Ron Hubbard's books.

If you want to understand 9/11 you do NOT read the NIST report.

If you want to understand Jehovahs Witness' by reading the "Watchtower", good luck with that.

If you want to understand a religion you do it by understanding by what it contributed to humanity.

Which religion is the source of most terrorism today?
Which religion instructs that people of other religion should not be tolerated?
Which religion is responsible for many deadly terrorist attack like 9/11?

The crusades is a good start.

Actually the crusades had NOTHING to do with Christianity...

The crusaders comprised military units of Roman Catholics.

LOL since somebody made this statement:-

Now I am asking for the proof.

It is very much related to this thread as the statement was made in this particular thread.

Either you are having difficulties comprehending the subject matter of the OP....

.... or you think the words "Islam" or "Koran" in thread title is a signal for you to post the usual spiel about terrorism, 9/11 etc which has nothing to do with the OP.

Those Roman Catholic soldiers were reading from the same bibles that you read from. Which makes them Christian as you.

Its funny how Christians try and distance themselves from the bad "christians" citing denominational differences... and at the same time club all of Islam with the terrorists.

monotheistic religions are all from one source. monotheism is the aim. and even their Messiahs are common.
did you know that all jews, christians and muslims are awaiting Jesus !
calling this or that infidel is just egos of corrupted clerics. monotheistic religions are for better life but those deaf and blind corrupted clerics and radicals are ordering their more deaf and blind followers to kill each other like crusade !

Satan reads the Bible as well...

He quoted it to Jesus and likely knows it far better than most Christians.

Using your logic, Satan is now a Christian.

lol Got anything that isn't 500+ years old as an example? I can give you examples of Islam wanting every other religion dead and forgotten ... examples from NOW.

Buddhists come close to being totally peaceful ... but some pockets of Buddhism can get tough as well. Considering how they are treated by the communists and the muslims around the world, I don't find it surprising that some of them will snap back.

Wiccans are the only real fully 'live and let live' religion on the planet.

It's funny how Muslims try and distance themselves from the bad Muslims, citing 'extremism' and 'the great satan' as a reasons for the 'bad muslims' actions ... and at the same time there is wide spread sympathy for the terrorists and their actions throughout the muslim world.

Dude .. I don't know what your obsession is with trying to get Christians to convert or believe that they have the same God as you etc etc etc. Thread after thread after thread. No matter how many times you post this stuff, it doesn't change the fact that Christians and Muslims have different Gods and Islam isn't all rainbows and unicorns like you want people to think.
