It is because any truth touches things that are taboo in this world.

If the book of Revelation came already revealed, then it wouldn't be named Revelation for one... And plus, the book would be banned by most of the world. Even ATS would have a policy against discussing the book, if it came without having to be revealed by a person with wise understanding.

Why do you think one has to reveal what's in Revelation? Why doesn't it just flat out tell the truth uncovered?

Let me hear your thoughts on this.

It's an old trick of those who want to don't want to be revealed as crazy liars. Mask your "prophecies" in vague symbolism that people read their own meanings into so you can never be pinned down as wrong.

"And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?" Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand"

Same reason Star Wars didn't start out with "The Rebels Eventually Win" at the bottom of the opening text pan.

What makes you think it would be banned? Interpretations of its meaning are discussed on the internet all over the place. If you think you have some profound idea of what it really means then by all means share.

Why doesn't it just flat out tell the truth uncovered?

Because it doesn't actually know.

Thought #1: The trickster archetype and taboo... liminality. Anti-structure. Boundary crossing.

The Trickster and the Paranormal

(great book, worth every penny)

Thought #2: The policy against discussing entheogens. Rule 6, IIRC.

(oops)

Because Revelations is a lie. A false book. Included by the Romans because it gave Christianity the power to force salvation upon the entire planet rather than just the Israelites. Jesus has said that he came only to lead the Israelites back onto the path of righteousness....no-one else.

Revelations is a book of fear. A book of control. A lie. Through this book the Roman Catholics have destroyed countless civilizations and destroyed countless arts and written histories.

'Religion' is a joke. As is the Bible.

I find it amusing that in the first customer review for that 'book' writes.." Be forewarned: This isn't light reading. It's a dense, scholarly 500-page work that will have you confused and ready to give up at various points"

the final book of the Bible is revealing...the veil was pulled back so the average 5th grader can understand it

the only thing not revealed is what the 7 thunders spoke...those remain sealed

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 1:1-3

And that means nothing. I would write the same thing to justify its inclusion and validity if I was trying to ascertain control.

good question.
my best answer is, the message needs to be 'decoded' so that only the righteous will understand. In the contest between God and the deceiver there are limitations; demons cannot appear in their full awfulness as they would so overwhelm people, esp primitives, they would know no better than to proclaim them 'gods'. in short, that would be cheating, just as Jesus didn't fall from the temple and let the angels catch him. Christianity is built on faith--'without faith it is impossible to please God'--so there must always be room for some doubt. he who will, believes; he who will not, disbelieves.
so my take is that if the Bible said 'The antiChrist will be named Cosmo Schmuckatelli and be born in Qatar on July 4 1976'...too obvious. parents would intenionally not name their kid thus. (or some wiseguy will change his name to that to proclaim himself etc). Such a clear prophecy, fulfilled, will force doubters to believe.
also, keep in mind that the book of Revelations is 2000 years old and many places/nations have changed names or did not even exist at that time (USofA), as well as technology (one writer said the stuff about the 'locusts' was a Roman-era interpretation of helicopters).
the enigmatic nature of the book forces us to study and consider, instead of just being told. It's a learning tool educators are familiar with; force the student to think and learn actively instead of just receiving information.
if the Bible said 'the rapture will take place on Saturday Feb 2 2013' many people would forgo church and any relationship with God until then. (plus they would probably reschedule the Super Bowl so Ray Lewis could still play). by the way, the calender has changed since then, so specific dates wouldn't be much help.
hope this helps.

I agree that the Book of Revelations is a lie even though I do believe in the Bible. However, being that I was raised Roman Catholic, the Book of Revelations was never mentioned. It's far more important, it seems, to the Protestants.

All I know about the Book of Revelations is that it was inspired by a dream, right? The thing is, it goes against most of what Jesus said in the gospels. It doesn't make any sense.

Let me hear your thoughts on this.

It always interested/intrigued me how these activities where described done by ANGELS

Rev 16:1 ¶ And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

Rev 16:2 ¶ And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image.

Rev 16:3 ¶ And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead [man]: and every living soul died in the sea.

Rev 16:4 ¶ And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

Rev 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Rev 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous [are] thy judgments.

Rev 16:8 ¶ And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Rev 16:10 ¶ And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

Rev 16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Rev 16:12 ¶ And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

Rev 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Rev 16:17 ¶ And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Rev 16:18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

Rev 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

Rev 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, [every stone] about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

The Fifth Trumpet--the Bottomless Pit
1 Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth ; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. 2 He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace ; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. 3 Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months ; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man. 6 And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them. 7 The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle ; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. 8 They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron ; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle. 10 They have tails like scorpions, and stings ; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months. 11 They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss ; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.

maybe these are some of the reasons WarJohn.

The "revealing" in the book is the revealing of Jesus as Lord in His second coming. He is being revealed, that's the first chapter of the book.

There are many many ancient and modern scholars
that say Revelations is the alchemical marriage.

Turning your lead soul into gold. 7 seals = 7 chakras 7 virtues 7 vices
4 horses = the posts of the zodiac solstices .
The suns journey through birth, exultation & then down into the underworld
of turmoil and Saturn (Satan) Capricorn (the devil Goat) and then into the womb
waters of Pisces and finally rebirth in Aries. March 21
The entire Bible and New Testament have been interpretted this way as
many of you know.
