The human mind is much more dangerous than a predator will ever be. We could go and kill all the lions and tigers and bears in the world if we felt like it. In fact we could destroy everything on this planet if we felt like it. Name one animal that could do that.

Maybe not an animal, but how about an insect?

In fact, about one-third of the human diet comes from insect- pollinated plants, and the honeybee is responsible for 80 percent of that pollination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Even cattle, which feed on alfalfa, depend on bees. So if the collapse worsens, we could end up being "stuck with grains and water," said Kevin Hackett, the national program leader for USDA's bee and pollination program.

"This is the biggest general threat to our food supply," Hackett said.

Thats enough damage for me to think about.

We can and will become gods if we continue to advance unhindered by the external forces of the universe. Someday we will be able to alter our own genetic structure and fuse our bodies with more durable materials. We will understand our brains well enough to make them more efficient and plant micro-chip sized supercomputers in them.

That sounds fascinating. I'm glad I won't be here when that happens.

people like you were the types scoffing at the idea that the world was round.

Well I don't know about that.. But I don't see humans ever becoming god like.

you promote "love" and "peace" yet within the same sentence you condemn your own species?

anyway the human race will never truly understand or come to know REAL love..its all superficial its what we've been taught to believe.

to be honest and i dare say, that 99% of the human race would still be using sticks n stones to defend themselves and to hunt.

here let me explain further... right now if you get the "7 billion" people on the planet and erase their memories and put them in the Savannah, with no prior knowledge of how to build guns or fire or anything else only 1% will eventually learn how to make killing and hunting tools greater than a spear or bow and arrow.

we are so pathetic and puny and weak, that we cant even be exposed to OUR OWN sun without blistering, and with prolonged exposure we even suffer skin cancer WTF?...

the MODERN HUMAN, would NEVER survive the conditions of our earlier ancestors (the real humans) they were built tough, with stocky frames, short in stature for balance and stealth, they were also twice as strong as an average man, and still had the same brain capacity.

a modern human standing 5"10 who weighs about 190lbs would never make it in the wild, we are a product of the "ZOO" syndrome, basically when you remove a wild animal from its natural habitat and place it in captivity long enough, they forget how to live in the wild and mostly die within a couple of days.

someone prove me wrong, i dare ya.

Other animals don't need it as much and they never will. So intelligence is not the epitome or purpose for life. Therefore, the world cannot be justly judged by it. We determine status according to knowledge so we think we are the most superior species on the planet, but by the universes standards, it seems to me that greatness isn't determined by how much you know, but by how well you can love and appreciate because through that, you actually determine your own greatness and the greatness of others in your mind. So, according to that logic, it may be that humans are actually among the most inferior species on the planet.

What an egotistical reply.

Oh yeah? Whats so egotistical about realizing the potential we as humans have within us? Its just plain ridiculous that there are those out there that do not see the divinity that our kind is reaching for. There is a huge gap between man and the animals. Animals have their place, and we have ours.

yeah id say thats pretty egotisitical because life it one lol in my opinion and self truth anyways lol life in and "around" < in your mind i guess because life is one anyways is divine now as for we being gods of this divinity it is somewhat true but can lead to illusions because every living being is a god in my view and we are not suited for being the only gods as our society proves and the outcomes it has on our world is disgusting and mostly derrives from the ego in my opinion so yeah keep spirialing your just now going to your own complex mind the thing that requires us to do what we do to "survive" witch is why i like the taste of the ops spead

Humans were doing quite well in the wild until they discovered farming and started settling in one place. That was the beginning of man against man. War over food supplies. Weapons became deadlier as time went by out of necessity, all because we created civilized communities and had to defend them from other civilized communities. Territories, animals are territorial too. They however have their weapons in their paws and mouth. It may be that in the end humans could be judged as inferior to animals. It really depends on what standard you are judging everything by. Ants are actually the most successful species on earth.

My personal opinion is that dolphins are the superior species. Although, if we want to get technical, the cockroaches haven't evolved for millenia. That means they are as adapted as they need to be. Doesn't that make them more advanced?

More and more, I'm beginning to feel that Homo Sapiens is long overdue for another bout of evolution.

We are by no means the most superior species on this planet.

Therapists tend to latch on to words like we, us, everyone, or in this case, humans.
This is called reflection..paint humanity how you see yourself..

No sir...You may find yourself inferior, but I assure you, you are not qualified to deem all of humanity by your standards...only yourself..and if you find yourself inferior, you should work on that.

When watching the Summit doesn't remind me of Spy vs Spy: The Clone Wars, then I'll be inclined to agree.

I respectively disagree with the OP.

I would think that you measure a species by its survivability. For instance, we can argue that dinosaurs are an inferior species considering that, despite their superior size and strength, they are no longer around.

.

ACTUALLY they were wiped out by a massive "E.L.E" type of event that literally affected the whole world if that were to happen in this day and age we would suffer the same fate of the dinosaurs.

also humans have only existed a blink of an eye compared to the Dino's

So you just happen to know what animals are thinking about?? For all you know there might be more going on inside the head of for example a dolphin than your brain. Our brain is only one small part of why we humans got so technologically advanced. One of the main reason is our HANDS which are unique to life on earth. Our hands are nearly perfect for making tools. Even if you had a supersmart monkey they do not have flexible enough hands to make complicated tools. A dolphin would even have less even if they have superiour intelligence to us.

At least you show that humans can be extremely arrogant.

We aren't the most inferior, we are just the only species with an inferiority complex. We see our own faults and often create our own problems. Knowledge and technology has not made us happier. It was never meant to, it was just a tool to help us get to the top of the food chain. Now that we are the dominant species, we have no clue what to do with ourselves. We still have this tribal mentality. The real question is: How do we evolve from this?

Amen to the OP, amen ...

I was at a religious service the other night (my wife believes ... I do not ... ) ... and the pastor is going on and on about how human's are superior because they "think as God does ..."

In other words, we are the exulted species because we have superior intellect ...

Yikes, talk about hubris ... But this is the Judeo-Christian concept of humanity's place in the cosmos ...

I suspect it is incorrect ... and we are no more important than any of the countless other species on planet Earth ...

Just because the majority have been sabotaged from the outside does not mean all are... but I guarantee since you posted this, you are seriously damaged...and should look to why.

Only those who have no vision cannot see how truly stupid your post is.

Humans are by far one of the most superior species, who are being enslaved to never realize this fact.

Who are you to deny the progress of the human race? Your tiny little narrow mind is the exact reason you will amount to very little in this life. Go on with your peta pals and worship the ignorant beasts you feel so inferior to.
