Well champ, just like I cant prove they are anything other than rocks, you also cant prove they are. Therefore laugh all you like. I still believe it looks like a sheet of metal, and you know what they say about opinions and everyone having one.

One thing that I think is the most interesting in that image and that nobody (that I noticed) pointed out:



If that's what it looks like to me (a crack in the ground, with eroded edges) then it means that dust/sand has been falling through that crack for thousands or millions of years and it didn't fill the empty space below, which probably means that there's a large underground area beneath Curiosity.

Or I may be completely wrong.

At first I was just going to shrug your post off as another rock "bug" hunt on mars.... But some of these are legitimately interesting! I really like the one with the mineral vein and the serpent one. They are all interesting objects, even if some of them might just be from wind erosion or some other weathering force.

#10 the panel looks very out of place to me. When I look at these pictures of Mars, I see what use to be a living world that now lays in dust.

You do get rocks in geometric shapes appearing naturally you know, never heard of the giants causeway?

I feel like 90% of those are naturally forming shapes. rocks chipped at just the right angle can make perfect angles. Interesting but nothing far fetched IMO.

Within this link, you can see an example with fractures in shale, and as to how easily it can form right angles. (in terms of what I see in the image below). Though the link I posted does hold some origin and areas as to where shale formations can form and how. Shale Cracks

Thanks for the thread OP. It made for an interesting read. They all just seem like rocks to me. You would be surprised by what wind erosion can do. Here are some beautiful examples. Although the close ups lacked detail and maybe need to be cleaned up a bit.


As for the gold, it is found in deposits here on Earth. Doesn't seem odd at all that it would be found on another rocky planet.

The so called sheet of metal or panel is roughly 10cmx5cm or 4x2 inches.



It's amazing to me that people put blind faith into one single image when there are more available to view.
It's important to be logical and find a natural explanation rather than jump to conclusions.
Going by the other photos taken by the same camera it's clearly obvious from the surrounding area these are all natural. The photos prove that without any doubt what so ever.

The one picture that I cannot explain away is that damn panel!
This is not how nature works, perfect straight lines. It just doesn't look nature like?
You know Fractals and all that sort of stuff.

I just took a look and to me, what you have labelled as Number 9, looks to me like a petrified baby elephant. You said it looked like a reptilian head, but I right away saw elephant.

Now of course the skeptics will shut ALL of this down in one swift stroke with the simple yet all powerful "natural formation" argument.As if its some ultra powerful spell from a Harry Potter flick which simply can not be countered.
Now i didnt read every spingle post yet so im sorry if this has been said already but look to the left of the pic that looks like a trap door.Look at the one thats zoomed in 100%.Now follow your gaze about 5 feet to the left.It looks like the door keeps on going under the dirt.Like they simply used these odd looking rocks as markers to show where the doors are at.or they could be just a panel and not doors.To cover up a hole or entrance.....Or it could be natural rock formation...of course....
