Coast Guardsman reappears after 3 months

news.yahoo.com

HONOLULU (AP) — A Coast Guardsman has reappeared after vanishing and being declared a missing person more than three months ago, Honolulu police and the Coast Guard said Tuesday.
Petty Officer First Class Russell Matthews returned home Sunday night, police said. Police say he was incoherent and taken to a hospital for observation.

This is a very interesting case. If it's already been posted I apologize. The details surrounding this case seem very hazy. This coast guard officer went missing for 3 months and then randomly turned up out of the blue at his house and was "incoherent." It will be interesting to see what news comes out regarding what actually happened. Based on how sketchy it sounds, we'll probably never know. Sending good vibes his way for a full recovery...

That is a very interesting story indeed. If a mass shooting occurs in Hawaii we need to remember this story.

Had a look at this story and it seems intriguing, but until we hear from the guy himself or someone who has talked with him, we won't know either way what happened.

Usually with stuff like this, it either turns out to be some kind of scam (in order to get cash or something), or it could be something unique.

Were there any UFO sightings the night he disappeared? Maybe it was aliens? I just don't see how else you go missing that long, it's just so bizarre to leave your family. What do you guy think?

memory failure/head injury,

triggering of a dormant psychological condition

these would be my 2-3 first guesses

so the guy wasn't actually missing, he was just in an area where noone knew him, and didnt himself realise he was 'missing' or even perhaps that he was 'he'.

this kind of thing is quite common over shorter periods of time (1-2 weeks), could just be an extreme case. Usually if they are found before they find their way home, they are found homeless or in a shelter, sometimes in a mental institution/hospital.

For anywhere for that matter. I forgot to check and see if his name was mentioned yet, but we should keep an eye on that. It's most likely not a conspiracy, it could be one of those stories that movies are made from. Lost at sea and washed up or who knows. Routing for him for a recovery!

In a way, that's much creepier. People go missing and forget their entire lives frequently.... *shudder*
