But you think cuz President Obama "suggested" it...that the GOP are going to pass an AW Ban???

If I'm to believe that you honestly believe the POTUS has no desire to see another AWB then why would he suggest it be passed?

From your perspective the POTUS is a liar on either side.

If he doesnt really mean he wants an AWthen why ask for one? Just to appease those in his party who want another AWB?

So either way he's lying. If I'm supposed to believe he doesnt really want to outlaw my rifle then he's lying to all the people who want him to sign an AWB. If he really wants to sign an AWB then he's lying to me and millions of others.

I'm guess since you dont believe AR's are used in sport or at least you dont believe those events are sports that you would like to see him sign an AWB. How do you feel knowing he's lying to you?

You seem confused. Sure the President has a "desire" to see some form of AW Ban. So did Ronald Reagan...but an AW Ban has to originate in Congress, specifically with the GOP dominated House of Representitives, thus he ASKED them to consider it.

So unless you envision the most conservative, idealogically intractable, obstructionist congress in the history of the United States to pass an AW Ban with the majority vote required, just cuz the man they have called illegitimate asked them to...unless that is what you believe is going to happen, then I am unclear how any of the paranoia is even remotely founded.

Any AWB legislation will originate with the GOP dominated house. That is why the President asked them to do it.

And the President asking anything of the GOP is a sure way to ensure it will never happen.

If you are fearful of an AW Ban then those fears should be directed at the GOP who must be willing to pass the bill, not the President...he doesn't write laws.

If it is done at the state level, then that is independant state legislatures and it will be immediately challenged in Federal court and the SCOTUS, being a conservative court, will over-turn that legislation....but if not, then fear the SCOTUS.

But "Obama is comming for your guns" has no basis in reality. It is idealogical paranoid gun-fiction-fantasy. Congress writes laws, the SCOTUS hears challenges to the constitutionality.

The paranoid fantasy of President Obama comming for your guns....has no logical basis.

What he "desires" is different than what Congress and the SCOTUS does or does not do...Or have you not noticed?

If you want to fear anyone comming for your guns...then fear the GOP who need to propose and pass the ban in order for it to become reality. If you don't think that is likely...then what's the hub-bub about?

I am and they are. I've been writing ever since this renewed zeal for an AWB poked it's head up from the swamp.

I do think it's likely and I dont trust any republican to hold it back. I dont want to fear anyone pushing more prohibition. It gets old day in and day out to hear them ramming the gate hoping it will fall. All I want is to be left alone.

As long as there is even one person involved with the legislative process who wants an AWB I will always fear an AWB and right now there are plenty more than one who wants an AWB.

Obama is coming for them. The dems and the reps are coming for them. Government is coming for them.

If they weren't then they wouldnt keep trying as they continuously do and they wouldnt be holding onto the prohibitions already in place.

Agreed, as always lately.

I think the Sheriff's and Obama know by now this only ends two ways. It's TOO polarized and TOO extrreme on Pro/Anti both at this point.

#1. Obama basically backs down by settling for some minor tweaks to federal Regs and a hard push on the states to go all 1984 on everyone. I doubt MOST of the states will because outside the East and West coasts? This isn't a far left nation. The numbers state that loud and clear.

#2. Obama and Co. don't back down and that will mean the FULL opposite. Nothing half way is worth THIS level of a fight, so if they keep coming now I think it'll be for everything humanly possible. Not a ban, outright. I think it would be everything up to it and a 'ban' in all but name being the goal.

#1 is what people are already too pissed to forget ...but..won't STAY pissed if it backs down and settles down. Of course, I can't speak for the people paying thousands for $500 AR-15's right now. They'll be pissed if these ARE NOT banned at this point. What a gamble to lose for those folks.

#2 is where the Sheriff's and others back their words and.. Well... It's Ft. Sumter to see who fires the actual first shot. That there WILL be a first shot is almost inevitable now if this keeps being pushed on all levels, IMO.

Fortunately, the mindset of the antigunners works in our favor... They're much too pussy and reliant on the govt to do anything but curl into the fetal position in a real situation...

They make the mistake of projecting their own cowardice onto those of us who swore an oath and are willing to uphold said oath.

The Senate would not even pass a bill to confiscate guns. It would insure a Republican majority in the House and Senate in 04 if they did. I wish the bill had to start in the Senate. The real threat is out of control spending,increasing debt and the bankrupting of America. Those entitlement checks won't come and that is when the violence will really start. Be prepared to see a lot of mass shootings in the next year or 3. The media is all in with the anti gun agenda. If the debt is not reduced Socialism in America will become reality.

Trade them then. Traitors are not to be tolerated.

The UN could be requested by the Executive Branch of Federal Government to enforce UN laws that the national government is unable to.

We could have a foreign president sometime in the next decade and he could invite in the UN to protect foreign investments, (ostensibly to keep the world economy from imploding) or for climate control enforcement, of for an epidemic health problem.
