Whereas in the past, people had many kids and expected at least half to die before they were 5 from disease or hunger, now we have aid agencies in these developing countries keeping everyone alive and feeding everyone year after year in land that cannot support the population. This is a situation of our own making, nature would have either killed off the people there or forced a migration back in the past, these days we just make the problem worse by encouraging people to remain in a land that cannot support them by giving them food, water and medicine.

You're right, technology is advancing rapidly, and the things you mention are feasible. However, resources are constantly declining, and the resources required for what you are talking about would be huge.

But why are resources declining? Why think that overpopulation is the reason? Where does effective management come in? Where does things like closing a factory producing necessities because a guppy is endangered factor into this? We've learned to manage forests, replanting as we use. Many of wise people see a world filled with water that can be desalinated, but yet, our leaders would rather frighten us with fear mongering about lack of drinking water than put resources into desalination. All of us understand oil, nuclear and coal pollution, yet we watch our leaders insist that we are facing an energy crisis whilst learned men are standing there ready, willing and able to harness the free energy of wind, tide and sun. Our world's problems are being used as fear mongering, pandering to the crowds that their lives are in danger. Yet some stand there scratching our heads at the true scientists, who have viable and intelligent solutions, are ignored whilst the fear mongers use their fear tactics to herd populations into their desired "solution" - depopulation.

But compare it to something like free birth control. The difference in cost would be astounding. Yet you have so many people who are so adamantly opposed to birth control, let alone free birth control.

Be fruitful and multiply. Understand that children are gifts from God. The people who are adamantly opposed to birth control understand this and hold it as Truth. We watch as those with no faith choose to fornicate at all costs, even to the point that they'd rather murder those children instead of controlling their sexual desires. Everything is being turned upside-down. The slaughter of infants is now seen as a lesser evil than, God forbid, abstaining from sexual desires. Have we not descended from a thinking rational man to a beast like creature?

I think we can both agree, it's an issue that needs to be discussed more. And we'd prefer to do something about it today, then wait 30 years and be forced into terrible draconian situations.

We watch as the mind controlled world get herded into relying on the beast state because they look to it as the source of their salvation, and therefore trust that this beast state has their best interests at heart. Well, they don't. They understand how fear herds. They understand that fear of environmental collapse, fear of declining resources fear of natural drinking water levels and fear of oil shortages can be used to their advantage if the people succumb to that fear. You live in London and it is crowded? I know it is I lived there for a time years ago. I can only emangine what it is now but it only reiterates what I said in the post linked above.

I starred your post in the thread you linked and its true... we are getting everyone from everywhere congregating on London.... its so overcrowded here its unbelievable and still I dont see the Councils or Authorities saying that you cant come to London to live as there is no room but you can spread out into the suburbs if you so wish.... this isnt being said which is going to cause mass unrest at some point especially as the English are slowly being taken over....

I'm not against other people but I am against it when the English being spoken becomes non - existent in some people....

God knows why we have half of the ME and Africa coming to London and soon i've heard there's 350,000 Bulgarians and Romanians waiting to come over.... where the hell are all these people going to fit and more to the point why are they coming here? There is nothing here.... people are losing their jobs because shops are closing down..... there is no room!!

Yeah well dear mother earth is doomed with or without us! The natural systems we depend upon today are destined to fail as they have time and time again. We give these events of catastrophic failure the prestige of being responsible for creating diversity on Earth. Consider that 98% of all species that have ever existed are now extinct!

Humankind cannot hurt the Earth Charles! We need a population of a trillion and a planet wide city should be our goal! Certainly we strip the oceans pollute the atmosphere and hurt the natural systems we depend on. An even larger population demands that we master and manage these natural systems. Even now we should be managing ocean stock. It is a simple principle to farm the oceans, and put back what you take out. Our fisheries have fished out the arctic cod, blue fin tuna and many others, and no one has ever attempted to repopulate the fisheries by artificial means like releasing millions of fry? Why is that friend?

In order to survive we need a large populous which will force mankind to farm/manage the oceans and completely master/control the natural systems we depend upon. We must fully manage the oceans and atmosphere all of the systems we depend on. It is also this forcing that will push mankind to the stars and thus possibly ovoid the single point failure that is Mother Earth.

If Earth is managed right it can support trillions of people! To prefer the notion of extinction for your own species over other species which are doomed to extinction with or without us is just plain stupid!

Certainly we need to manage things better, but at the end of the day all of the Earth should be used for the purpose of supporting human life! The technology to accomplish this goal should be at the forefront of science.

If Humankind did manage to bring about some massive extinction event killing ourselves and 90+% of other species, we will have just created a window for future diversity! That is likely impossible though even if we tried

Your hate for humankind speaks more to your self hate than it does to common sense! Humankind does not survive, nor does he keep himself above the animal world by the principles of humanity, but rather by means of the most brutal struggle. We won't fix it until we break it, but if we do develop the tech to manage our ecosystems we will survive as will many species that would have perished if left to nature alone.

Mother Nature loves humankind best of all because it is Humankind that may bring the torch of life to other world! Die for a whale if you like, but leave the species out of it!

Depopulation is an idiots dream! Try as you might the notion of humans hurting planet Earth is entirely fictional. There are countless events in Earth’s history that make the entire history of human impact seem trivial.

We have the technology to better this world and support billions more, but we choose not to use it because we value the lives of whales too much, or maybe it just does not pay enough! Whatever the reason we had best get on track pretty quickly or you will get your wish and Humankinds future will be firmly planted on the back of an ecosystem which is destined to fail. Necessity is the mother of all invention, and in my mind a single human life is more valuable than all the whales on the planet!

I can't sit here and guess at all the tech that would be required to achieve this goal, but I do know a population of 2-3 billion may have an Einstein every 100-200 years where as a population of a trillion would have a hundreds in existence at any given time.

Globalization is a Rothschild idea . The problem is we have David Rockefeller living here in America and he is pushing it over here . The people here are fat and happy while the crooked politicians are selling us out . If people were to actually takeresponsibility for their future they would hang our politicians for treason . A lot of Americans are lazy for now but when they take away their toys they are going to be pissed . As long as they can have their phones , computers ,beer and drugs nothing will happen .

Everybody here knows England is screwed . Look at your own country from where we all ran to get away from . If it were so great why would we have left . America is not crowded or as violent as your country. Why don't you and all of your wisdom deal with your own problems , and they are many . First off your silly pride and your silly ritual about a Queen who actually does nothing along with prince Charles who has never turned a productive days work and lives off the backs of the poor . It has been brought up and I think it is always the simplest, truest answer the advocates of eugenics and population control. If you feel there are too many people then you have the right to remove yourself from the planet. That will solve your problem with the rest of us as well as the problem you've become for us. I don't understand how a population control advocate can seriously state their support for such measures yet fail to make that obvious, critical choice in their own life. Could it be they are simply psychopathic, homicidal liars?

The main problem is mostly we are living too long. I'm sure that some control over birth would help, but we need births or the average age of the population would continue to age and we would end up with a very large percentage of the population past 65, and not working.

Most likely we need to move retirement age to 72 AND limit births. I wonder when having kids will no longer be a Right but a Privilege. We ALL say that there are many people who should never have kids, but then most would be aghast if there were controls put into place to where one would need to apply to have kids with economical means to support them.

a voluntary program of sterilization would work best, imo.

every female would have the option of being sterilized surgically, for free and then receive a 5,000 $ thank you check for being responsible.

since the program is voluntary, it would not offend religeous or cultural objections.

money saved from unwanted pregnancies would pay for the program 10 fold.
a crack baby can cost society a million $, the crack mother would instead chose the 5,000$ check.
poor families could have money to take care of existing children.

and, imo, reducing the human population by at least 1/3 is needed to protect the ecology of this planet.
less resources would be required to feed, house and meet other wants of the human population.

Population is self limiting . It always has been . You people who are worrying about it now will have a different out look on it when you are older . But if you are concerned about it reduce it now by one .

Okay it's an option, and being voluntary it might even be acceptable, but I do have one issue with it. Why is it you limited this program to Women? There are more Women than Men in todays society and it would be cheaper to offer it to Men instead of Women. This however is still not fair, so it should be a choice, if available, to both sexes, not one or the other. I will admit, I made this choice over 2 years ago and it would have been nice to have had it done for free and got paid for it too.
