Area around the Iani Chaos region of Mars. This color image was taken by the ESA (European Space Agency) Mars Express spacecraft on October 14, 2004 using the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC).

Here is the original.

I don't see the writing in the sand. Looks like hoax to me...

So... aliens only believe in Leo's and Capricorn's? Where the heck are the rest of the zodiac signs?? I do have to admit they do very well resemble the symbols though?

This looks like the original to me, but I don't see anything special in it...

Plenty of highres pictures of Cydonia that don't show the "alien writing".

That's an old hoax, if you look for it you can find old threads about it.

If I'm not mistaken, in one of the threads someone found out the font used to write those symbols.

No Aliens, just Photoshop.

Not even photoshop, more like digital crayons. Another wasted five minutes I'll never get back...

Whole picture looks odd to me. I see a possible piece of pottery in the left hand side, and alot of faces in the rocks, and what looks like a gear to the bottom right, its flat and kind of star shaped.

Man this would be huge!
If only It were real.

Let's say for arguments sake it was real.

What would this mean to you? To religion?
How would it be debunked?

Would Leo's say move over Jews we are the chosen ones?
Oh what's that ex chosen ones? You don't buy it?
Take out a damn telescope, look at Mars
and apologize.

Well, obviously the old Mars inhabitants were the Titans of Greek Mythology. They are hundreds of feet tall. But all those artifacts found by the rovers? Well, those were created by beings of truly unknown origins who are but a few centimeters tall.

I don't believe alot of the pictures online of mars to really be mars.

Does this real to you, or some kind of plastic resin model?

images.spaceref.com...

For real pics, marsanamolyresearch.com has some good ones.

The above photo is from here; www.spaceref.com...

Some of them come from here: www.msss.com...

And I'm referring to a typical search. Yahoo is the worst, they're just plastic looking. Google search had more pics.

In other words, they're deliberately warping truth, to the average person, who does a search. You have to dig deeper, and I don't like that.

Here's one referenced by mar anomoly; www.msss.com...

Also in fairness, don't see the letters/piping on the original photo in the OP. But there are other letters that have been discussed on Rense and various sites, again, who knows what is being put out as photo shopping.

It looks like a 3D recreation of Mars, based on the photos taken by Mars Express.

For real pics, marsanamolyresearch.com has some good ones.

That was funny.

Those are obviously the same photos, why do you think those are "good ones" but the originals are not?

And I say the originals because that's what you should look for instead of relying on someone else's version of the originals.

This is the same area where the "face" is located, it's the feature inside the red circle in the image below.
