Speaking of the Secret Service, why is there a vehicle in Obama's motorcades fitted with a pop-up minigun that can fire 6, 000 rounds per minute? Where would it be prudent to fire such a weapon? You know where Presidential motorcades travel. Urban streets, lined with innocent people.
butcherguy - lol
You can't call Obama a hypocrite without simultaneously making the point that these weapons are wrong
thanks for that
:-)
Want to try again?
Do many people own their own minigun?
The NRA doesn't push for people to own them.

Why are children a poor backdrop? Do you know what happened?
They're also using children just as much as anyone to further their goal - in fact saying Obama doesn't care about your children - despicable

I understand the sensitive nature of gun control in light of the resent events within the United States. I also understand that the issue of gun control can be heard from every street corner in the nation right now. Some of you may know that petitions have been filed with the White House, not only to deal with gun control, but also to not make any rash decisions or executive orders as the 2nd Amendment is coming under fire.
Tomorrow, the President and Vice President will be holding an event at the White House to "unveil a package, a concrete proposal to reduce gun violence and prevent future tragedies" Okay, that sounds good. The country is screaming for action and they are on the ball. How this turns out, whether good or bad, in terms of what it means for the 2nd Amendment, will have to be seen tomorrow.
Here's the problem, They will be surrounded by children. I feel this is an attempt to exploit these children and create sympathy within the masses in order to push their agenda. I feel this stunt will make it harder for Congress to deal with this package due to the "backing of the masses" and they may be forced to pass it along regardless of what the fine print has to say. It is one thing to announce and go over a plan the people are screaming for, but to involve children as a backdrop, with Sandy Hook so fresh in everyones mind, is a low calculated ploy to gain backing for his plan.
What say you ATS?

Billions of dollars are spent every day maintaining bunkers (that cost the taxpayers trillions) in multiple locations along with airborne and sea based platforms just in case the world falls apart to save this one man.
You don't think they would hesitate to mow down some kids if they need to get him there?
This is what intrigues me about these people (the elite) what do they think will be waiting for them when they having left the people of America to their own devices while seeking cover for themselves, their cronies and families? Do they think after we have suffered whatever disaster or unrest we will welcome their leadership and guidance?
I think any pronouncements of "Hey, I know you all endured some hard times while we sat comfy in our bunkers on our asses but please surrender yourselves to our authority again" type declarations will be met with ambivalence at best probably with hostility from most.
The most contentious piece of the package is Obama's call for a renewed ban on military-style assault weapons, a move that is unlikely to win approval because Republicans who control the House of Representatives are expected to oppose it. The Newtown gunman, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, used a Bushmaster AR-15 type assault rifle to shoot his victims, most of them 6- and 7-year-olds, before killing himself.
Law enforcement officials said that Adam Lanza was armed with four firearms when he started his rampage at a Connecticut elementary school Friday that ended in the deaths of 20 children and seven adults, but nearly all the killing was done with just one of the guns: a .223 caliber Bushmaster semiautomatic rifle. Lanza used the rifle, a modified civilian version of the military's M-16 similar to the popular AR-15, as he stalked through the school and opened fire on children as young as five. Dr. H. Wayne Carver, the medical examiner who investigated the massacre, told reporters over the weekend that all of Lanza's victims had been shot more than once.
Fun because of the semi-automatic feature. "You can shoot 30 rounds in 10 seconds or less. It's kind of an adrenaline rush." It's comfortable, too. "The gun doesn't produce enough kick to hurt you." And, if you don't want to use the semi-automatic feature, "You can squeeze the trigger one by one and get a different feeling."
And that's about enough from me tonight Absolutely just turned my stomach
