ive heard that there is a speed of darkness, it is said to be at least 4 times the speed of light. Something to say against this is, darkness is simply the absence of light, so cannot have a speed, but i guess i think that when lights go out, there has to be a speed at wich the darkness comes. i realize it is instant, but still. since i never actually looked into it/ researched this "Speed of Darkness" theory, i understand my opinion doesent really count, i just thought it interesting. what are your thoughts?

Darkness itself has no speed.
as said, darkness comes when there is no more light.

So the time it takes for the last light to emit from the lamp to the point where all of the transmitted light is absorbed by the suroundings, this is how fast it will be dark.

So if you say that darkness does have a speed, it will always be slower then light, since first the last light transmitted has to go its path trough the room untill its absorbed fully.

If sun would disappear it would really take eight minutes for us to see that.
So speed of "darkness" is c.

As mentioned, darkness is simply the absence of light.

Light is energy, and has a speed. To our knowledge, darkness does not have these properties, just as the vacuum in space is the absence of atmosphere, and thus has none of it's properties either....at least to my understanding...
