Hey,

That was a wonderful photo, thanks for sharing. What I really like about it is the uniformity of pixelation when zoomed in on closely, even without specialist software.

Although it is clearly a bird, it is a good standard, I think, by which to judge other pictures of birds thought to be UFOs.

edit on 9-1-2013 by Xoanon because: I know it is only January, but I would like to go ahead and nominate this as the stupidest post of 2013.

Great pic, I don't think it looks like a bird, or a bug. Looks like a disk to me. UFO or not I am not sure. I also read that this is not as high rez as you took, so you have seen an even clearer pic than us and I still think it is a good pic!!

Looks like the UFO on a cell phone app my friends girlfriend has on her droid. You take a pic and can add tons of effects, and there is a ufo just like this on the app.

judging the clarity on the post and of object behind it, id say it was an object thrown from left to right.

Ha! You'd be surprised just how antiquated a process it truly is. And I work for a major Defense Contractor (who happens to dabble in the telecommunications private sector.) Dirty secret, none of the major carriers or tower companies have a very good database of what's on their towers... and in most cases, the information they do have is either incorrect or terribly dated. Too many cooks in the kitchen when sites are built, upgraded, maintained, etc. and too many towers changing ownership hands.

Haha true that. I work for a telecom company and began to laugh at the questions he was asking. We are asked to take a photo before or after contractors do work on our cellsites or when we do work on a cell site. Guess what kind of cam they give us...... some disposable cams you buy at your local walgreens.

As for the information.. he is correct on that too. there are too many people going in and out of cellsites or cental offices where records are lost or not kept because either no one cares or no one has the time to do it. I don't think people really understand how telecom works. telecom buildings/cellsites are owned by one company which can change at anytime and various companies own/rent equipment in said buildings.

My company has gone through so many changes that the vehicles have stacks of stickers of all the different companies that have held the area I work in.

Most of those places are worked by people who have all the records in their head.

just chiming to help the OP as people are getting tied up on such things.

the picture looks like swamp gas or some anomoly caused by light reflection or refraction off the aurora borealis

How is that valid evidence ? you distorted a picture with blur and smudge and expect it to be the same as a photo taken of a speeding object.Seriously what are you thinking

What am I thinking?

What are you so upset about?

Although I didn't really take the photo that this thread is about very seriously to begin with, I wasn't really completely sold that the object was necessarily a bird, another poster made a very descriptive post and said it looked like a bird coasting between flaps mid-flight so I found a picture of a bird in that position, opened Photoshop, did a 5% strength smudge to depict the direction it was travelling, and used the Motion Blur tool to depict the angle. I was pretty surprised with how much it looked like a UFO, so I decided to post it.

Would it upset you to have to go through that agony of looking at it again?

Relax. I don't expect it to be taken as any sort of proof of anything.... although whatever evidence it may offer is certainly anyone's to digest as they please. It definitely helped me to convince myself that the photo in the OP is definitely a bird, though. Sorry.

Over-active imagination..

A bird, the bill can be seen to the right, the legs to the left and the wings have been caught as they round the body..

You can see the wing shape clearly....

How can this be a bird????

Do you see any wings???? Do you see anything i see that looks like a bird? Why dont you believe your own eyes?

The US army has made UFOs and as they seem proud for that they took one of these for a test drive!

Does a bird has a stomach like the UFO in the picture has? Birds have a corner on their stomachs? Cause this picture shows a corner on the bottom of the UFO!

Take off your fake glasses and see the reality!

Man the photographer who took the picture of the bird manage to make it look so clear because it was moving with a low speed. How can a bird of this size fly so fast that a camera cant catch it?

The same way this blurred object without obviously visible wings could be a bird:

People said the object in the image above looked like a metallic disc-shaped object, but this is what I see:

I'm conditioned to see a disc shaped flying saucer but will be condemned if I say that...so, I'll go with jet airliner.

It does seem staged and peculiar based on the fact I don't know who the hell would take a picture of a small part of a cell phone tower let alone catch an object on that rare occasion. I'm sure this was all setup.

Unblock your mind and at least try to understand the information posted in this thread , there is plenty to show this IS a bird and none to to show its anything else .
Whats the point of saying its not a bird when experience and the available evidence shows it is

How can a bird of this size fly so fast that a camera cant catch it?

I've already posted it a couple of times but Here is your answer...BLURFOs !

Very blurry but might as well resemble a C130 plane.

I think I can faintly make out the wings, but completely out of focus.

Not sure though, interesting find here !

I'm not upset i just didnt got the clue what the connection is with a smudge/blurred pic and a original photo with a speeding object/animal/rocket i dont care which.Dispite i first ruled out that it was a bird i did use some of my plugins on photoshop to compare with Outrageo theory and i do agree it is a bird so my apologize for that.
