i have NO PROOF for what i am typing but here me out because it makes sense.

do you think that the gov't will wait for the people to "decide" if cloning is right / wrong???

something this amazing would be not hesitated to be done...

this is breaking technology and the gov't is NOT going to wait for a law that says it is ok to do...

does this make sense???

This depends on what you mean... cloned embryos have been created, however, no one has convincingly alleged that they've implanted any embryos and brought them to term. The cloning of human cells/embryos absolutely has been done, the question is have any of the cloned embryos been implanted.

Mclone claimed to have cloned a baby and brought it to full term in a surragate mother. They claim the baby is alive and well. How much credence I put into Mclone is questionable at best though as they are funded by some religous group called the Ralieans.

Yeah, I couldn't remember the name, but this group is why I said that "no one has convincingly alleged" to have implanted embryos.

When it came down to it the Ralieans were unwilling to back up their claims with DNA evidence, specifically, allowing the clones to be sequenced. Thanks for the info Kidfinger.

I am not claiming that it hasn't been done, just that no one has convinced the scientific community its been done.

the name Mc 'CLONE' sounds a little unbelievable to me. Is this really a real person who works on genetic manipulation? I dunno......a bit 2 convieniant if ya ask me....

Believe it or not, they are a large company that even is a public company that can trade its stocks
Go figure that one out
They work on some really far fetched things.

yeah, for all we know clones have been around forever.
We dont necessarily have to know about it for it to be true...so much we dont know,
and so much being kept from us.
(Some info only comes as love grows...otherwise we would misuse the gift given to us.)

Gods peace

Well, one must stick to traditions right??

Nothing particularly amazing about cloning. What would the gov do with this baby anyway?

this is breaking technology and the gov't is NOT going to wait for a law that says it is ok to do...

Why would they wait for a law to approve it when they created the laws to limit it? Cloning is exciting, and of course its already been done, the embryos just haven't been brought to full term, they were destroyed long before that. So why would the government create a clone and keep it secret?

Nygdan makes a point. The gov't is not really likely to be the first to do this. It will happen with private funding. Some rich person will fund cloning themselves.

Well, they could do whatever they wanted to do with it. They own it.
Most likely, testing, cruel and unusual testing...

Why does the Government keep any secret???
They do it for their own reasons.

Next, your going to tell me that you believe everything the Government tells you.
That they tell the public everything that it does, tells the public about all its projects and the results of them...

they wouldn't own it any more than they'd own a test tube baby or a regular baby. Why would they be performing 'cruel' tests on it? Its just a person, its just another person. Why do you think thats 'most likely'

So you are saying you have no reason to think that they've done it and no rationale for what they'd be getting out of it and no evidence that they are secretly doing it and therefore, they've done it?

I don't doubt that they could by why would they? There's no great mystery to clones. If they wanted to build an army of clones then they'd have around 18 years of having to deal with an army of bratty kids that'd have to be raised trained and educated. Not to mention cloned in the first place and gestated in a woman and given birth to. Its a rather expensive way to do something that many people do without even thinking about or intending to.

lol:

Wow, thats a really good arguement for the 'government' having cloned people and performing horrible secret experiments on them.

What would be the gain for the government in creating a clone?

well what i meant is cloning a person and this clone person is now an adult and healthy etc...

an actual clone that looks like the orginal etc...

what does the gov't want with a clone baby???

are you kidding me???

have you seen the clone wars

Harvard has human cloning plans. Check it out:

Well its actually Clonaid that claims that there have been 13 cloned humans born to date. Yes they are the Raelians.

Here is some info on there site
www.clonaid.com...

Take a look at their history and services.

Playboy also did a recent article on the group. You have probably heard of them on the news.

Well depends on how well the clones are made, if they are exact replicates, then maybe they are using them for army purposes or maybe they may have other technology, to try and transfer brainpatterns thus creating a kinda immortalty....Or they could just be using them for tests :| Who knows.....I guess if it really has happend then the only people who know are those who were involved !

I don't know, I'm NOT the Government...
Again, they would cover it up for their OWN REASONS.

~rhetorical~
What's the gain for the Government covering up UFO's as well as a billion other things? Why not just come clean with the info???

I was referring to just the "testing" part when i said "most likely"... not the "cruel"
Why "most likely"?
Because the Government likes playing with things. Most of the time, they play with things that shouldn't be played with (not yet anyway)... I would think testing on par with that canceled(?) TV show Pretender...

Why the "cruel"?
When someone gets a new toy, they (alot of people at any rate, myself included) don't read the instructions, don't use it for it's intended purposes (most of the time) and usually end up ripping it apart to find out how it works. (or, how to improve upon it, modify it, etc).

Of Course they would OWN it. They created it. They can do what ever they damn well please with it...

And, if they didn't go public, they can kill it when they are done with it. You wouldn't care because you didn't know about it in the first place...
