why is my stupid comp saving pics as videos?

whenever i want to save a pic that i find on the web, i'll right click and save as, right?
well it USED to save them as pics but the other day it just decided to start saving them as vids!

now when i try to view one of the pics that i've saved, windows media plays it as a vid for about 5 seconds and the closes it. btw, i'm using firefox.

WTH?

Try right clicking the image file and going to "Properties" Then click on "Opens with" then choose the software you want to to view your image with...

how do computers just randomly change settings like that anyway?

You may have recently installed a new program that made jpg's its business, it seems a lot of software believes once it's installed, you'll never want to use anything else
