I do everything I can not to get sick at Chrimbo time but again I have got the flu or something, I eat well lots of fruit and veg but I still get it and it ruins my Christmas
.
I work in care so If one of my old dears gets sick we all get sick, my eyes are watering all the time and I just feel rubbish
.
I have tried cheese and onion soup to try and sweat it out, tons of water, flu capsules, overdoes on garlic and I still can't shift it.
I am a man so It is twice as bad
.
Anyhow rant over just sick of being sick

overload on Vit C

I am not a doctor, in no way take medical advice from me. Seek medical advice from the authorities.

Already have (Onions and oranges) no point going to the Doctors they tell us not to go because they can't do anything for it and risk spreading it.

You just need to rest matey. Best you can do given that you suffer every year is to overload on vit C and garlic before the miserable flu rears it's ugly head in the season and keep at it. If it's already got a grip on you you'll have to wait this one out.

Cheese and onion soup...Awesome, not had that since I was laid up as a kid.

Really fancy some now.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well

I'd cut the cheese out while you're ill (at least), dairy is not recommended when you have a cold or the flu as it will make you even more mucusy and blocked up.

Feel better soon x

A thick layer of Vicks on the bottoms of your feet & cotton socks, you'll feel better in about half an hour.

At my husband's job, every one, and I mean every one he works with, people coming into the store were sick. Usually he catches every thing. Not this time. He has been taking 1 level tsp of pure ascorbic acid powder in some juice every day and he has not caught a thing.

When I feel a sore throat come on, first thing I do is get some wild oil of oregano and paint the back of my throat with it. Hours later, no more sore throat. I once fought off strep with this measure.

I too have fought off the beginning of cold and flu with ascorbic acid in powder form.

My husband and I also make an immunity booster soup this time of year, which contains many cloves of garlic, onions, greens and various beans in a nice vegetable broth base. Just chop those garlic pieces very fine and toss them in. When eating the soup, chew them in your mouth. It is very good for you and it keeps you well. I have literally felt immediate energy boost from this soup.

I'm no doctor, just hoping to share what works for me and our family.

Another trick to keeping viruses from going into the nose.....

When a bad cold or flu is going around and I have to go out into public, I will swab a layer of vicks inside of my nose. It will keep me from catching anything.

I think ranting when we get sick is helpful.
I think it helps us fight and get over that hump so we can get better. I remember one time I had an awful month long cold, and boy did I get mad after 30 days of being sick. I remember slamming my fist down on the table and saying "that's it, I'm not sick no more!" and I swear the next day I felt better

I do hope you feel better soon. It's no fun!
