Report: Obama To Make Push For Immigration Reform This Month

President Barack Obama is prepared to use his political capital to pursue immigration reform this month, according to a report published Wednesday in the Huffington Post.

The report cited an anonymous official in the Obama administration, who suggested that the president is unlikely to be deterred by the protracted fiscal cliff debate that will be revisited in the coming months. As such, the administration will reportedly move quickly on both immigration reform and gun control.

He's attacking full force with his insane agenda.

Why do we need to bend over? Are these immigrants all porn-actors or something?

I find it ironic that a country built by immigrants have people complaining about them.
Getting people from different cultures into your country makes it a better place, we have been doing it for over a thousand years
(What makes us GREAT Briton if you ask me )

Put yourself into a immigrants shoes for a moment, wouldn't you want to live in a place where freedom reigns? If I came from Iraq or somewhere else I would want the best for my kids and do anything for them to grow up in a decent place.

Maybe you don't understand. Amnesty is for ILLEGALS.

Illegals should go back and come legally.

Illegals or not I applaud TPOUS for doing this it is the moral thing to do.
Plus many of those illegals will be good for your workforce (once the economy gets going).
I read somewhere that there are around 13 million Illegals in the states at the moment so instead of getting away with paying many of them slave wages you can sign them up to pay tax and so forth and maybe those people will love the USA and contribute to you all.
Right thing to do in my eyes.

Maybe he is doing it because of the slave labour force you have in the US?

www.examiner.com...

Make them all legal then they too can follow the American dream without being taken advantage of.

The President does not get to write "law". And TG the House will never pass amnesty or gun-grab bills.

Ding Ding.
If us Americans want to get technical.... Then none of us are real "Americans", this land really belongs to Native Americans that was hijacked years ago.

(I'm gonna stop now before I start ranting)

I'm sorry. Are we skipping the whole "land bridge" thing now? Didn't they migrate here too?

You talking about Native Americans?
I thought it wasn't really known if they migrated here as well. But I know some scientists believe they did through Alaskan Territory from Asia.

But then that would mean before then, there was humans in North and South America? Just animals?

If you go to the source of the article and read it along with watching the video he never says anything about amnesty for anyone. Obama's Immigration Reform Push To Begin This Month And going by his record for deporting illegals he deported more in his first four years than the previous admin did in eight he isn't looking to give amnesty to anyone.

I'm impartial either way, but most jobs that illegal immigrants are able to get are jobs that most Americans would not want to do. Of course I would like to see them come into the country the legal way, but the process for that is so full of bureaucratic garbage that it's laughable.

Point I'm trying to make, is that what is with the imaginary line of "countries"? what's with most Americans tripping out about immigration?
If most of them could only PUT THEMSELVES in the immigrants shoes, they would see Why it is that they want to come here.
The US is alot better off than many countries, hence why they come here.

AND it is not easy doing it the legal way either.
Ever been to REAL Mexico? (not the tourist BS areas) I'm talking about REAL Mexico. Check it out if you can. You'll see why they migrate here...

Seems most Americans don't see that they are VERY fortunate to have been born in this country. Instead they just talk # and shun outsiders who just want a better life.
Nobody chose in what imaginary man made territory they wanted to be born in... So how can people justify thier opinions of not letting immigrants into the US?

All this bickering about an imaginary line in the dirt like we're six-year-olds; a line that, I might add, merely separates what was stolen by one group of people from what was stolen by another group of people. That's all political boundaries really are. The human race needs to get over it already. State-nationalism is the ultimate form of ignorance and bigotry.

That is not what Reagan or any President since him has thought. It is also very possible that many of our familys that came to America did so illegaly. If you know your history you how all the illegal Irish and Italians immigrants had doomed the country in the 1800s. Amnesty for people who are productive members of society is not just a nice thing to do it is in the best intrest of the nation. That is why Amnesty for illegals has been a mainstay of American politics since we have had them.

This is true, but not entirely, and I feel it may be based on faulty reasoning. Most americans would not want to do some of those jobs because they wouldn't work for illegally low and unfair wages. It's the money, not the work itself, which makes that work unattractive to a majority of people in the "lower" to "middle" classes.

This is a kind of catch 22.

The only reason many legal citizens would not take some of the jobs you mention, is that the employers only want to pay dirt-cheap illegal wages to the people performing the work. I'm not trying to demonize people who create jobs, any jobs, however people want to pay someone else the bare minimum to perform a given job, to keep their labor costs low so they can make more profit.

The employers get away with this because of the fact that there are tons of illegals willing to take those illegally low wages. If a majority of illegal workers were not there, in other words a small fraction of what it is now, and a majority of the available workers were legal, the employers would likely be forced to pay higher (legal) wages for those jobs, as they would be unable to find enough illegals to fill the positions at $2/hour or $20/day or whatever it is (money which no, or almost no legal citizen would ever work for). So they would have to start paying at least minimum wage for the positions. That, in turn, would then be more likely to attract legal citizens to do that work.

I fully understand why people want to come to America. I have actually seen the world.

What I don't understand is why people want to come to America and then turn it into the same third world cess pool they left.

Come to America, become an American. Don't come to America and say "this area is ours and we want "old world" rules. I live outside detroit (we border Canada BTW), you can't get a job if you don't speak spanish. Make a lot of sense to you too?

EDIT - I wanted to say I am sorry if my remarks came off as overly aggressive. I have not seen real mexico. I have seen real Sierra Leon, real Liberia, real Iraq, real Somalia the list is pretty expansive (and always visiting those places on the dirt level, where clean water is "fancy"). America as a nation was made strong by one thing. Immigrants wanting to come here and make a better life for themselves and their families. But the immigrants that made us strong strived to make their adopted home a richer and better place. Simply moving from one location to another and never changing is not helping the "better" nation. It is really only dragging it down to third world levels. I do hope that this takes some of the aggression out of my original post.
