All this actions was after M 5.2 so probably coming strong earthquake in next days in Chile.

Sensitive area is southern or around Santiago and Bio-Bio offshore area.

I've been watching it too. Only crappy part is that these swarms sometimes produce a large quake, sometimes they don't.

Time will tell I guess.

Chili is quite sufficient without any recipes.

First of all , allow me to welcome you to above top secret ...

as you may well know Chile is right smack in the middle of the ring of fire and there is always big and small seismic activity going on year round ...

and they could be also after shocks of that 8 + mag quake that hit early in 2010... id be worried if it suddenly stopped to be prefectly honest here ... so far it seems pretty normal to me .... and quakes and volcanoes are my hobby ..

I know aftershocks come sometimes after years but for Chile I don't think similar like you.

My thoughts are that Chile will have minimum M 7.2 soon.

Before this I did not know that aftershocks could come years later.
I am a glutton for new knowledge.

GFZ had that quake at 2012/12/27 00:37:05 as a 5.7Mw, that is quite big and could easily spit out this number of a/s

I open this thread because I believe this time dangerous "West Coast" EQ stronger of M 7.0 + will appear in short time or couple of days after strong EQ in Chile ..

So Chile EQ I'm enough positive to post in public this time will effect West Coast EQ but we will see is my calculation accurate for next "West Coast" EQ ..

EQ will probably hit somewhere offshore in line from Mexico to California to Cascadia to B. Columbia ..

Also think this 2 EQ's very probably will happen in next 3-4 months or soon ..

You say 2 EQs so are you saying one in the area Mexico to California and one in the area Cascadia to B. Columbia?

You say your 'calculation'. On what is this based, in other words what is your theory as to why a Chilean quake will affect one or other or both of the above? A calculation or a feeling? Just interested because the two subduction zones being separated by a transform zone makes for an interesting set of dynamics.

Cascadia is of course due for a big one soon enough, but I am not so sure about California/Mexico. All areas are probably due for a big one at some time of course!

Nop I saying one in Chile and short time after that one in area " West Coast", somewhere from Mexico to Golf of CA to CA to Cascadia fault to B Columbia ..

Based on calculation and feeling also on all possible information what I learn in my life about similar events ..

You all know how is difficult to predict "West Coast" EQ and is hardest from all other areas, that reason way want to try to predict him ..

We will see if I'm right then I will write more about that, of course have possibility for C America west coast also ..

I don't remember where I saw this first, but this would be concerning for the Bio Bio area.

Copahue Volcano

It's a stratovolcano on the border between Chile and Argentina. It's cranky and active often and in 2010 spit up enough ash to affect air traffic and evacuate small local villages. Christmas Eve it started again. Last I found it was still on red alert.
