it is written everywhere. i am not the first person saying it. illuminati is very rich. and their lodge did too much charity before my eyes. i felt it aaall over in my brains and on right. you have to trust me with that.

Ok. Trust me when I say, not all Freemasons are rich and not all lodges have a lot of money. Lodges have closed or merged with other due to LACK of money.

If it closed or merged because of lack of funds, how would that show its very rich?

This chap ( who I haven't seen posting for ages so it's fantastic to see his posts again! ) speaks the truth, sadly.

While there are many people who are Masons and are rich, few lodges are actually 'money rich'. Mine certainly isn't.

I don't dispute there are probably lodges in London (I'm in the UK) or lodges elsewhere in the US who are flush with cash -- but that doesn't mean they are up to no good. If they have good account books (we do) then every penny is accounted for.

At the end of the day, the money is raised for the charities we support, based on what the current WM wants or supports when proposed during our general meetings i the year by other members, or other UGLE charitable events.

That probably sounds very boring and very anti-climactic to some who think Freemasonry is nefarious but in all honesty...it can be quite boringly normal

EDIT: Oh, i should mention for transparency that some money is the lodges and goes towards the rent we pay for use of the temples in the lodge, to cover unexpected expenditures (like covering when our fees keep going up and some members struggle to pay) or we need new regalia or other Craft/Chapter bits and bobs.
