Haha I posted this video earlier today in another thread about whether santa wears a tin foil hat.

+10 angry points for thug cops
-10 hippy points for santa being a loud twat

ultimately, 0 points in total. Dunno where I stand on this. He said he was chalking with parents and kids yet he was the only one apprehended.

Actually, +20 hippy points for the "You're definitely not on the good list now" bit.

Do good deeds, make children happy, and encourage the word "peace" in public, and you get ARRESTED.

Do evil deeds such as screwing people out of their retirement, savings, and lives on a MASSIVE scale, and you get wealth and power beyond your wildest imagination.

What a planet. Somethings wrong here.

however, apparently, being the only one in the big red suit, he was 'seen' as 'the ringeleader' of the chALkers, hence him, again and apparently, being the only individual arrested on the scene.

p.s.
I don't recall hearing or noticing what the other young man was taken into custody for. (?)

"Chalk" up another one for police insensitivity and lack of common sense.

I gotta ask why are there so many reporters around crying loud mouthed Santa? And were we all of those kids just drawing and having a merry time.

To everyone who is on poor Saint Nick's side on this one you just have been played.
You need to re-think how you see the truth and the world.

You would think these officers would be more concerned about violent crime going on rather than worring about Santa.

Why do you think poor loud mouthed Saint Nick had so many reporters around him? But by all means let your hate blind what is right in front of you.

Just because there's reporters around, doesn't mean something bad is going down. Here we have a guy addressing the community spirit, and why not? Maybe reporters were there to acknowledge and pass on the news of this individual... Coming to think of it, were there really any reporters there? Everyone has a camera of sorts about their person. And is this area any good for tourism? Perhaps even an event in the area was staged hence the attendance of reporters, if any.

CONTEXT------That is what we are missing until then I might be right I might be wrong but I will trust in the officers until then.

Something seems a little fishy in this case. Cant you smell it?

Even with 2 videos of Santa with the kids and then the arrest video there is no video of what was happening before he was arrested. We go from Santa with happy kids to cuffs. Nothing shows the police arriving or any of the discussions they may have had with Santa.

Why isn't there video of the whole thing in one place? Probably because whoever was filming has their own agenda.

I can't really smell much at the moment, got a stinking cold
. But I do know what you mean. In any case, surely the police could've handled the situation a lot better. They are supposed to be trained and educated for these events. And if it was staged, then any sensible person would take a stand back and allow the village idiot to perform, bringing forth the reason to act. This element seems to be missing in this issue.

BINGO-----And the people who hate will still look past this simple truth. Wake up you are being played people.

For all we know they gave him every chance in the world. CONTEXT..... is still missing until then it is speculation on all of our parts.

P.S. I hope you feel better.

That element is missing because the video has been edited to only show what they want to show. To get everyone to react emotionally.

I agree and ATS is the perfect cop hating place to post it and get a ton of flags for it.
We need to search out the truth and if the cop is wrong they should be punished but if they are right they should be thanked.

The police ranks are filled with a ton of good people and only a few bad apples.

Here is a personal story for everyone I went to get a last minute gift on Saturday and a poor dog was out in traffic. The dog would not come over to me when I stopped in the middle of the road it was to scared. I called the police and followed the dog beeping my horn and blocking cars the best I could.

All the while the dispatcher was giving directions to the units and together we all did a good job. The officers cared about that dog and saving it's life I know this in my heart. You could here it in there voices. They sent many units and they did a good job.

I am not a crying type of guy this showed me how much people really care at a point in my life I was not very sure anymore. All for a scared lost dog.

In a sense we're all agreed then. Just need to find the bit in the middle, like him peeing up a lamp post or something.I'd actually care a bit more if I wasn't expelling after effects of sprouts.

Vinger said a Texas State Preservation Board employee asked Peterson to stop defacing Capitol grounds, and he refused. Another suspect was arrested for criminal mischief as well, Vinger said.

Members of Occupy Austin, which “believes that the use of washable sidewalk chalk is constitutionally protected free speech,” gathered at the Travis County Courthouse on Friday night to protest the arrests, according to a statement.

Would still like to see the whole video. The youtube the paper linked is the same one posted in the thread. I'm sure whoever was taping has the whole thing on video and are only releasing what suits their purpose.

I don't see a big deal about Santa and the kids chalking the sidewalk but what happened when he was asked to stop. Was aggressive towards the person? Most cops are just doing their job - yes there are bad ones but most aren't. They didn't look too happy to be doing their job at that moment though.
