My way or the highway?
First of all, the Republican house voted down Boner's plan B.
Secondly, our president ran on this idea and won in an overwhelming fashion. Now these government officials job is to represent the American people. A vastg majority want the President's plan.
Lastly, the "My way or the highway" you're referring to, is the way the Teapublicans do things. This is why Plan B was voted down! By your own party. It is the GOP being obstructionist on this issue. No ifs ands or buts at all. No debate about it at all. The people all know. Just not Limbaugh listeners.

It just seems to go against the grain to see all these countries telling America what to do these days. Look at the second ammendment for example. It seems as though the International Community isnt shy at all about giving advice to America.
The findings, which were publicised in an unusually narrow report on Wednesday but follow months of discussion, are seen as a victory for a bloc of “middle income” developing countries, particularly China,
That system has been upended in the aftermath of the 2008-09 financial meltdown, however, and some key IMF tenets have increasingly been called into question, particularly by fast-rising economies such as Brazil, China, India and others.

China and friends win another victory over America. It just seems weird. I guess things change.

Just a question here.
Basically if they don't pass something now then everyone gets a tax rate increase? Why wouldn't all politicians want that?
They can each stand their ground and blame the other party and in the end both parties will watch more income roll in starting in January. Sounds brilliant
And just to be clear on what is called a "cut in spending". That isn't what is getting ironed out. It's cutting the growth in spending. So basically America spends more than it can afford and project a growth in spending every year. So we are just trying to get the growth in spending down by a tiny percentage point. We still spend way more than we can but at least we can fight over how quickly we dig out hole.

I like how this is all the republicans fault though when you have a president basically saying its my way or the highway and refuses to even talk about options. He would rather take start taxing the crap out of people rather than maybe just stop spending so much money. Hey but at least were helping China with their green energy projects. Dont be so naive to think this is just a problem with those pesky republicans.. Why are people so un willing to open their eyes and realize that the guy sitting in the oval office is the biggest problem this country has ever seen.

maybe because Obama has already raised taxes so much in the last four years that the median income for every household has dropped, we have the highest unemployment since the great depression and an exodus of top income earners due to government intrusion....
those are a few reasons....

Oh other facts in recent history
NO ONE voted for Obama's budget... NO ONE, not one congress member or senate member... I dont even think Obama voted for his own budget....
Also, lets not forget Obama had a super majority for the first two years of his term and instead of fixing the economy he shoved obama death panel care down our throats
President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it. Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year. Republicans forced the vote by offering the president's plan on the Senate floor.
