As many of you know, at some point tomorrow, Great Cthulhu will rise from his eternal slumber at R'lyeh. Finally, our pointless lives will end; the time has finally come to leap into the great slobbering maw of our Dark Lord.

For those of you that are not aware of your impending status as dinner for His Cosmic Majesty, please allow me to quickly catch you up.



Great Cthuluhu, herald of The Old Ones, presently lies dreaming in the sunken city of R'lyeh. H.P. Lovecraft gave the coordinates for R'lyeh as 47˚9'S 126˚43'W, here are the
GeoHack Coordinates for R'lyeh. And here is a map...



Of course, that one shows R'lyeh in relation to Sweden, but like it matters right?

Of course, the faithful have always known where to direct their paeans, Vermont, but other than Vermont, the flaming flames of our faith were even further flamed when The Bloop was recorded in roughly the same region of the Pacific as H.P.L.'s given coordinates.

The Bloop is the name given to an ultra-low frequency and extremely powerful underwater sound detected by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1997.

As you can see, we don't have it so bad, imagine how long folks in Europe are going to have to wait to be eaten. But why gloat?

So, tomorrow it is, our long wait is over, somewhere in that vicinity, R'lyeh will rise and Great Cthulhu will begin the slow process of cleansing the earth to make way for The Great Old Ones and a New Age of Cosmic Terror will dawn.

What better time to have a rock and roll record party?

I don't know if that's how you post a youtube video, but these guys are right up your alley. All their music is inspired by the Cthulhu mythos. That's my person favorite song by them.

As an Australian our Apocalypse has already started (see below pic NOTE this picture has not been photo shopped).

I was planning on barbequing some prawns with garlic, lemon grass and chilli, but after reading this thread I’ve decided just to get naked, baste up myself and head towards the beach to catch a few last rays before our impending doom. I mean who cares about skin cancer now right….?

Do you think our dark overlord will appreciate the subtleties of South East Asian cuisine or should I add a little ginger?

Thanks everyone, any excuse for an H.P.L thread right? It's good to see the regulars.

I would just like to mention that if everyone is out of stuff to read, Charles Stross writes within the Cthulhu Mythos, he is my favorite right now, his Cthulhu-Punk stuff is awesome, but all of his stuff is awesome, if you are a Heinlein fan, or just any kind of sci-fi fan, I recommend This.
