Wow..after Australians were forced to hand in millions of semi automatic guns after a massacre in 1996 at Port Arthur Tasmania, we now know why Sydney is awash with ILLEGAL semi automatic weapons.

This is incredible...this is an absolute disgrace.
Oh yes read the link they are also allowing illegal drugs through the airports.

These are people with Federal security clearances, bringing illegal guns and drugs through major ports and airports of the country.

And guess what , the story is only in one newspaper and not even the main front page story.

A check of the NSW Police Force's Media page indicates there have been at least 19 newsworthy firearms stories in December thus far - most to do with shootings or drive-bys. Number of lawfully-registered weapons involved in these crimes? Zero.

Criminals in Sydney in particular have access to semi-automatic pistols with high-capacity magazines, typically 9mm and .40 cal Glock models. High capacity magazines are banned for use by licensed handgun owners, so where did they come from? They came from the same place as the handguns themselves - imported illegally from overseas.

I used to think that Australian Customs were simply incompetent based on the amount of weapons and drugs which come into the country, but this new information about corrupt customs officers means it all makes sense. It will be interesting to see how high the corruption goes. As one ABC news interviewee mentioned in a story today, the higher echelons of the Customs and Border Protection Service came up through the ranks, working in places like airports and the docks. How many of them have accepted dirty money to turn a blind eye?

Since the importation of both illegal drugs and weapons take a toll in our society, these revelations are an indicator of a massive betrayal of the public trust by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. The organisation needs to be torn down and built back up with proper internal affairs procedures and highly effective anti-corruption measures built in. You can't polish a turd.

Yet the overseas crim gangs full of loot have enjoyed impunity.

The cultural background of the alleged offenders hasn't been disclosed.
But if we delve into the cultural background of the majority of the offenders shooting guns in Sydney every day of the year almost, we may see a coincidence or not.
The security industry in Australia , is more and more being run and manned by overseas people.
In Qld Australia it has been alleged by a whistleblower whose job was to screen security officer applicants, including those who would work in military bases and federal positions in security..that they filled in the missing information themselves as per instructions.
A HIGH RANKING OVERSEAS DEFENSE BASED security OPERATIVE worked in Qld and was on Interpols wanted list.
This was all reported news.
There are thousands of recently arrived Indians gaining security officer licenses,and getting work over Australian born applicants.
What background checks do they get?
