Chinese State Media Demands US Citizens Be Disarmed

This coming from a country that drives over its own citizens with tanks? I think I'll pass on taking any criticism or demands from them. No thanks...

The Chinese government probably has a gun in stock along with ammo for every citizen in their country. Sure they want us disarmed. We should listen to what they say but consider everything.

I'm not pro killing anyone or pro getting yourself killed, but clearly China is not just going to be wiped up by US if it came to that.

Russia is a different story... doesn't have that many people, doesn't allow handguns... and would perhaps like to see our laws change as well.

I wonder how bad china doesn't want us to have guns, others as well. were they just cranky when they said that and it came out demanding or are they gonna come do something about it?

I definitely believe there are MANY legal gun owners in the US that should NOT be allowed to have a gun.

I personally just think it would be kinda neat to see that happen.... China come over here and take some of our guns. Nobody gets hurt, it's not exactly war if no bloodshed occurs but China just all of the sudden comes to help us gather up some of our guns.

Al those people who are like HELL NO, I AINT GIVING UP MY GUN... would have to calmly hand their guns over. Ouch.

Did you guys even read the Chinese article. Here it is just in case:

It says NOTHING about demanding the US population be disarmed. In fact, the most biased comment the article even makes is that calls for gun CONTROL (not banning) "disappointgly" fail after such acts of violence. The rest of the article gives a mostly balanced view of the polarizing issue by saying little more than some citizens want more gun CONTROL (still no mention of banning or disarming) and that others believe they are protecting their rights. That is essentially all the article says.

However, the author of the BREITBART article the OP links to would have everyone believe that the author of the China article has a "strong" dislike of the NRA. And offers up a quote that takes some strong inference to come to that conclusion. These are the only two sentences that mention the NRA:

Gun lobbies, such as the National Rifle Association (NRA), are very influencial.

It says this after mentioning gun control as a polarizing issue (it is) and moves on to another point about how hotly debated the issue is (it is). No strong dislike there.

and

And the Democrats lost the Congressional election in 1994 and the presidential election in 2000, with the shadow of the NRA present in both defeats.

It states the influential NRA (it is) helped defeat democrats who wanted more gun control. No strong dislike there either. Theres no comment that even laments over the defeat.

It seems that "strong dislike" is now characterize as a lack of overt praise. It never once praises the democratic party, as the Breitbart author claims, and even points out that if Obama takes up this fight, it could come at a "political price" to him. And as for the article supposedly claiming the Republicans are complicit in the violence? This is the closest you can come to supporting that:

The terrifying mass shooting in Colorado happened in an election year. As a result, neither of the Democratic nor the Republican party were willing to step up gun control, due to possible political ramifications.

As you can see, it correctly states that neither party wanted to address gun control and NEVER "attacks" the Republican party for being "complicit".

Read the flipping article before get all upset about something that was never said.
