Regardless of any official time, I hope you all have two very nice days! I read it's warm in your part of the world right now, I'd love to have some of that warmth!

Just scanned the news, BusinessInsider for all their faults (of which there are many) are typically fast on reporting, even if it's grabbing tweets of interest - though this a matter for ATS, since we've all been inundated with posts for many years on this topic.

As for Dusty Toad, s/he's a solid member and a top contributor - I just don't believe any of it since the "experts" have stated the calendar simply ends, the same way our cars don't have a millionth "0" on the odometer, instead it just rolls over when you reach 999,999 miles.

I did not mean to put that on you. You just made me realize that the "told you so" cries are about to start. Guess it made me read a bit more into it, sorry.

I don't think that is necessarily the case, but I think in this instance it would be as the Dec 21, 2012 crowd have been preaching doom and gloom for well over 3yrs now. Everything from a giant planet that I have still to see in the night sky (man that thing is going to take one heck of a movement overnight) to the whole world just having a cataclysmic event. Gullible people and innocent children have been living in fear that they are living on limited time. So I would say in this particular instance it is merited.

Yea by all means, the last thing we want to be is respectful. We are human beings, we learn by trial and error. Every single scientific discovery has its own journey. We work with the information we have available to us and do our best, how can anyone ask for more? If 21.12.2012 goes by silently you wont see me talking down to those who expected differently, if anything we should treat them with respect and be thankful for the work they have done within their fields that in many cases have brought us good data for later use. And if something where to happen, I stand corrected. Nothing more and nothing less. Not saying there are no people out there who spreads disinformation, all I'm saying is that they are not the ones who will have a difficult time after being proven wrong.

And that they are irresponsible for informing people of what they believe will happen is just bag of #. Again not saying there are none of those but there are a lot more people who actually believes it. If someone believes that he/she has good reasons to believe that something terrible will happen, don't you want them to share those reasons? Judging people for not having read every single line of text that one self has is irresponsible.

Anyone who fails just increases the chance of success for somebody else.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

what's wrong, do you actually believe, saying/posting "nothing will happen" 20 times a day on the 2012 is going to get results? lol, and how can that be possible when you do not subscribe to the Magical Paradigm or know how to actually effectuate Change according to your Will?

do you have any idea how frightened and irrational the "nothing will happen" crowds look to a practicing magician?

the worst offenders are those who contradict themselves, 1st they state that "nothing will happen", and then make a DOOM prediction.
this is the Dark Side speaking through them, the rest are blind people trying to describe an elephant in the room.

speaking for myself,
i will be Immanentizing the Eschaton the 21st, so for me at least, something will happen.mua-ha-haha

and no, you are not my mental disease.

oh don't take it personally jason, i'm not talking about you in particular, you're just the messenger here, i am a tad disappointed you didn't point out the fallacious thinking involved, given you being a rock of stability here most of the time, and again, business insider has no dog in this hunt, as a media outlet i of of course expect them to go with the status quo.

and i'm not an end of the worlder, i'm an end of the Ager.

nor am i waiting to be saved/ascended etc. and am taking such matters into my own hands.

in case it's the 21st in your corner of the world:
Welcome to the Pandaemonaeon!

I'm not analyzing or judging today, just reporting and seeing how things unfold over the next day or so. As for all the folks who have made predictions, stock piled goods or whatever - to each their own. I've personally enjoyed their posts over the years and I hope they stick around. On the flip we're still a day away in the crazy ol' US of A, so who knows what tomorrow may bring. Cheers.
