I read today how Discovery is cancelling American Guns because people some are complaining that it makes guns look "fun, glamorous and acceptable," So we live in a world where Jersey Shore, Jackass, Toddlers and Tiaras, and Honey Boo Boo are glamorous and acceptable, but an American small business that promotes the 2nd Amendment, family protection and responsibility is a no no. We live in a topsy turvy world.

You can expect this thread to to get little more than a chorus of crickets if not swept under the rug completely.

Of course. Gun as protection stories aren't useful to their agenda.

They could descend on that movie theatre and fly over it for days and interview everyone for miles around to show how guns can prevent a tragedy from occurring, but they won't.

Kind of shoots holes in their stories about the "evil gun",

Oh, I agree. I'm not talking about private possession for defense. I was comparing the media calling for more gun control at home while the US Military Industrial Complex is responsible for many more deaths around the world on a daily basis and the media is obediently quiet about that.

Too bad the gun haters will ignore the implications of this. The answer to mass shootings is more people carrying guns, not more gun laws.

People that want to kill people will find a way with or without guns. You take those away, and it could just as easily be a stolen 18 wheeler plowing head on with a school bus full of kids, a hummer mowing people down at a parade, a bomb in a building ect.

There are reasons these things happen where they do is in no small part that the shooters know they have a far better chance of being sucessful if they go to a place where no one has a gun.

This isn't news unless the shooter actually succeeds, giving the press another story to push the socialist anti-gun agenda.

But yet after the Aurora shooting the comment that had someone in the theater been armed they couldn't have stopped the gunman.
I can tell you for a fact that I shoot better than most of the local police here. (I have watched their qualifications)

I first heard of this in a movie called "Lord of War" with Nicolas Cage. Highly recommended. The movie made the distinction that although minor arms merchants are demonized as scum, the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council are themselves the largest arms dealers on the planet.

Okay cause I didn't really add to the thread, here's a story I found to be along the same lines... A second mass shooting was prevented the same day as the CT shooting, but nobody heard about it. One thing thats funny about all the "madness" in the world is that we never notice when things are actually operating exactly as they should be.

Thanks. Thats amazing! We're almost DOUBLE Russia's production supply and no one else comes close to either of us. Kind of scary to realize how militarized we are when you think how that force is slowly being turned against us. When I say "us" I mean the US population as citizens.

BTW, Lord of War was an AWESOME movie. I've watched it a few times now. I never really paid attention to that factoid in there.
