The OP asked for any possible explanations of the photo,I gave what I thought was the most plausible one which is the story is true but the photo isn't.Image manipulation goes back,quite some before 1936,they just had to wait another 50 or so years before the clone tool came out.edit on 17-12-2012 by Imagewerx because: (no reason given)
