Do you think that the horses are actual physical horses or do you think they symbolize something else?

I thought Jesus rode into town on an ass. Why would he return on a white horse I think I may know why, because the ministers rode my ass in church....All the asses are presently being used.

Sorry about the joke, the devil made me do it.

I see many references to the person on the white horse and wonder why Christianity took this in the first place because of how Jesus entered town. I don't know, it just seems so irrational to me to have him on a white horse and with a sword to boot.

Something else that I just thought of...

The constellation Sagittarius. He is half man and half horse...a White Horse...
There's all kinds of stories and speculations concerning the prophecies written in the stars.

the only white horse i have ever heard about is Pegasus , Hercules horse , maybe they will both pop down to destroy the titans, the elements as we know them , super volcano's , hurricanes, earthquakes and ice age.
in all honest i don't believe in this or the 2012 issue, all i know is that every prophecy and foretold problem can be related to every other prophecy or foretold problem , and this bit is what u lot will love , and that if you peace everything together from all the religions there all the same , so there is ether only one god or there is no god at all,
best guess, some one was really good at telling stories back in the day and it spread like wild fire around the world, the first STORY ever written , for example , the harry potter books , look how literally some people took it . criticise my idea all you want but the same pattern has happened since that first really good book , and obviously there are little differences , but hey , Chinese whispers happen when stories get told

No, I don't think the Zechariah and Revelation horses are physical.
I think they're intended to represent "the power that God sends out in different ways".

Has anyone considered that over the thousands of years that these prophecies have been made, things were lost and slightly altered in translation?

Perhaps white horse = white house?

The white house does hold immense power over the free world, and perhaps the word "house" was turned into "horse" somewhere along the way. Also, perhaps the term "horse" is just a metaphor...?

This is a little different than 2012 because the Hindus, Christians and Muslims have Billions of adherents and rich traditions to draw from. 2012 is more of a new-age-marketing ploy.

Zechariah 1:8 "I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood amongt the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white."

Zechariah 6:3 "In the third chariot white horses; and the forth chariot grisled and bay horses.

These are visions given to Zechariah. To understand the context one should read the entire chapters.

If you read the white horse references in the Bible you will realise that there is no mistaking white horse for white house. The four colored horses, i.e. red, black, white, and grisled or bay were "...these are the four spirites of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth." (Zechariah 6:4.) I don't think houses for forth unless they are mobile homes but they probably did not originate in heaven.

Op: this is an interesting thread. I hope we find more references. Perhaps we can piece together these different myths and prophesies and come up with something substantial.

Going along with this....the prophet Muhammad rides a White Horse named Barak to the 7th Heaven from the Temple Mount. Breaking it down into Hebrew..barak could be "lightning" or switch it around a bit..baruch..he becomes a blessing.

Is it possible that the term, "horse" is actually an allegory for means of transport, perhaps a ship? It was probably mistranslated, or rather translated literally, as "horse," whereas it could be signaling a white vehicle of other means.
