It was once suggested through our 2nd amendment that a well regulated Militia was all that was required that we needed to maintain our gun privileges, but unfortunately over time our government has eroded this through subterfuge, and now has "We The People" in a Conundrum, scrambling to finding a quick and permanent solution

Fortunately in this country we have avenues that comply on all legal levels to circumvent the government from exercising their will on the people

Deputy Sheriffs County Commission

Let me say it once more...Deputy Sheriffs County Commission

Thats right folks, the most powerful law in the land is given to each and every Sheriff from every County in Every State in the Great Ole Us Of A.
Which gives him the ultimate authority to Commission as many Deputies as he so desires

If your gun rights mean everything to you? and you want to retain your firearms beyond the legal description, you must make every effort in convincing the Sheriff in your county to consider rewarding you with a Commission and Deputizing you

that way everyone one wins and the world is a safer place knowing that everyone is the law and everyone is packing....LEGALLY and beyond reproach

I suggest every legal possess citizen in every county hire a representative to make an appeal to your sheriff with a list of applicants and get a requirement from the Sheriff, then follow the requirement to secure your pass.

There are many that have, including the most famous....IE: Elvis Presley, Ted Nudgent, Etc.

A as you know, every Sheriff must be voted in,so politically this could keep him in office indefinitely

Win!Win!

Fine idea. I will make this a local priority.

Thanks for the suggestion

This is a case of what you read is not what you get. While I know why people insist Sheriffs have the ultimate authority, and it has been debated on ATS before, the Federal Government has proven this not to be the case. Whether it "technically" should be or not.

Case in point: marijuana legalization.

Sheriffs are required to uphold the law, including in places where medicinal and now recreational marijuana is legal. However, as we all know, the federal government continues to ransack, raid, and arrest those (much waste of time and money IMO) that participate because it is against federal law.

Until we the citizens demand that the Federal Government go back to it's Constitutionally granted authority, and that authority only, the federal laws continue to trump local and state legislation. Of course, the pendulum has swung so far the other way this is certainly more easily said then done.

But this is what it is, and not a legality issue
