Hi everyone
i am just posting a brief topic to ask if anyone is having trouble viewing mars and phobos on google sky and Worlwide telescope? i have tried to view mars on both and nothing, just a black space, i used to be able to but nothing anymore, i tried on WWTS and it wont work either, phobos when serched does not even come up in the search box, recently i read a post about the french or european space agencie announcing that Phobos is semi hollow or man made, its a topic also here on ATS, so any how, thought i would ask, maybe there is some censorship going on? i wanted to annylise phobos but no luck.

Thank you all

No one claimed it was hollow. No one claimed it was man made. What they said was it has less mass than it should, so it most likely (although it's only a theory) has large chasms inside. Not hollow, several large caverns.

'no one' .. pretty bold claim ...

Phobos -- as a clearly "artificial moon"-- ... these findings and conclusions; not only the stunning, obviously "artificial Phobos" now seen in the Mars Express close-ups

ALL now agreed that "the interior of Phobos is 'partially hollow .

Source

now whether you put much faith in Richard Hoagland or not ... im not too concerned about .. but it seems you were mistaken when you say 'no-one' ... by no-one .. i think you mean, 'you', and the sources you read ...

saying to OP 'no one said its hollow', cos its recognised as being partially hollow (or less mass with probably chasms inside), is a pointless play on words .. we all know what he means .. and his wording is fine anyway .

not saying i believe its artificial or 'hollow' .. but im going to say it is anyway .. well .. right or wrong .. thats another person saying it is .. again proving your claim wrong

edit on 15-12-2012 by Segenam because: (no reason given)

Allow me to clarify ...

recently i read a post about the french or european space agencie announcing that Phobos is semi hollow or man made

No one on the team the OP refers to made that claim. Hoaxers like Hoagland also do count for no one in my book, as their opinion is 100% worthless. Regardless, no one from the agency referenced in the OP made that claim.

No problem! Phobos is definitely interesting, I am very excited for when exploration of the various moons is undertaken.

It's google, give it a little bit of time there is no conspiracy here. Phobos is not hollow, there is nothing crazy or wild going on.
