Can you hear that, fretful barrel fellator?

'Tis the knell of gun control--it tolls for thee.

A sad day for human-kind not only in the US but China as well. Forget the gun debate for a minute and see through humane eyes that something is far, far wrong. We as a spieces are changing and not for the best. We are becoming unfeeling when atrocities like this hold our attention for only a short while.

I think of the young girl April Jones from Wales in the UK, murdered a few weeks ago and still her body is not found. Ask someone to recall the incident even though there was maximum TV coverage for hour on hour, day by day...and they cant remember her name.

I have grand-kids, the newest being only 2 days old and I worry for them because they are not born uncaring or without empathy. Its the growing up in this staged society that moulds them. They are sculptured into unfeeling statues of what we once were in my day.

I dont have an answer...does anyone?.. But unless we find a way to bring decency back into our thinking and a real feel for what is right and wrong....I know I will mourn for what we once were..

I was thinking similar things. All these wars, killings, endless tragedies are affecting us in ways we dont even know about. They give detectives investigating serious crimes time off to recover, serial killer investigators can only work on a case for a year or so before having to change cases. We the public never get time off, the media and news is relentless, they're the worst kind of sensationalists. I think for all our sanities sake we should take time off now and then, unplug from the media and smell the roses.

Unbelievable.... I just got home and heard. Over 29 people killed. And from what I heard, his mother worked there and spared her, but shot the children.
Really don't understand. Just horrible. One of my co-workers used to live there and said it was such a small town. If he was that angered why not just shoot his mother before she went to work? Why go to her work?

I knew that yellow tarp earlier on the live camera was not a control center. I knew it.

My thoughts to all the families who were victims of this needless and heartless action.

This is just a horrible tragedy with innocent children.

Exactly.
And after three years of having everybody armed, there won't be any "idiots" left.

This is a tragedy that I cannot wrap my head around. However I knew it would happen, that this would turn into a gun control debate. I absolutely would not put it past our government to do something like this to push their agenda through. But who knows, either way is is aweful and nothing will change that. I am guilty of countering the anti gun folks on here in this thread. It tugs at a thread that is very sensitive to me. I will try and stay on topic though.

The mother owned the guns?

The vehicle the suspect drove to the school was registered to his mother. Sources told Fox News the guns used in the shooting were owned by and legally registered to Nancy Lanza.

before Americans wake up and evolve

Maybe you just proved evolution is a lie. Or maybe it's prejudicial towards gun toting Americans.

Either way gun crazy wacko or a gov. mind #### created as has been proven to be a possibility one thing is for sure. People are dead. And my feelings about that are as human as any ones. I shouldn't even have to mention that but my heart aches for any child.

Not just those who died today. But also for those who live and face a very uncertain future. They face a world that is obviously controlled by people even more psychotic than any of the crazed gunmen.

Ever heard of a crowbar? How do you know it was not locked up before it was stolen? I have no kids here, I don't lock my home defense guns up. A lot of good they would do me in a safe if I needed them.......

What about them? Stop attacking my constitutional rights and maybe I could sympathize more efficiently. Oh, and guns are the antidote.

No one is attacking your Constitutional rights. You are using this evil tragedy, to promote your personal agenda...IT'S NOT ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS!!!

Innocent children being murdered today...that is what this thread is about.....Families in pain that will last for years....that is what this thread is about....Pray for them, and us....so many broken lives. So many broken hearts.

What do you expect? For everyone to mourn & become hate-filled with vengeance? There are too many people in this world, with too many bad things happening. There are also a lot of great things happening socially, technologically, & in other areas; but the bad things are what garner the most attention, in burst.

If you dwell on atrocities for too long it takes am emotional toll on you, and breeds feelings of hate & wanting to enact a torturous vengeance. I do think there's a level of apathy in people, but it's hard when you realize there's not much you can do to stop foreign wars, regimes, children being slaughtered & the like.

Americans have focused all their attention to 18 children dying in the own country. What about the thousands of children who are being murdered & maimed in foreign countries? No thanks to the U.S "defense" contractors, military profiteers & bought-out government. Nobody cares about those Middle Eastern & African foreigners I suppose....

And when you take guns away, hicks and criminals will still buy them illegally. My step father would probably run a few cops down before he gives up his rifle. What does he do with his rifle? He kills squirrels. #ing squirrels. It's not the guns, it's the people holding the guns. There will be just as many criminals with guns when you make guns illegal. They're criminals. What do you think they would do? "I think I'll go kill 20 children today! Oh wait, guns are illegal. Boo hoo." No, they would find a way to obtain their weapons, legal(ly) or not.

Kills squirrels ?? that's just sick, whats wrong with taking pictures of squirrels or painting a picture of squirrels..
Yearh.. killing squirrels.. what a big turf guy killing cute small innocent animals for perverse hobby.

And you say he will gun down cops if they try to take he´s gun away.. so you basically saying he is ready to kill another human being in fear of loosing a thing made for killing stuff.

There will be just as many criminals with guns when you make guns illegal.

That´s right.. but the criminals or mentally ill will mostly do whats easy to do, easy crime... and with guns everywhere in US .. the easy crime will be with guns.

How many school shootings have there been here in Denmark... EVER -->> None

From what I'm reading, it's worse.

He shot his mother in the face at her residence and then got in her car and drove to the school to open fire in the school afterward.

(According to the link I posted above.)

That doesn't sound right to me. Why would he go to the school after already killing his mother?

The guns were stolen from a legit owner, therefor illegal, and not affected by gun laws in any way or form.

You're kidding right?

So if the owner never had the opportunity to own a gun, they would not have been there for the taking would they?

VERY affected by gun laws in every way and form.

See the bigger picture and you won't get more of these events on a regular basis.

The Liberals are a cancer. In the past few years they have tried to remove our ability to defend ourselves, decided that something as unnatural and deplorable as homosexuality is not only acceptible but right and natural and cool, and defended a womans "right" to murder her unborn child. Yes I'd say the liberals are a cancer. But that is really waaaay off topic here.

Just a little emotional and overwhelmed.
I have a 11 and 14 year old kids and my wife teaches in an elementary school.
You usually have to be buzzed in at these schools. They have a camera.
I'm pretty sure they never really look at the camera when they buzz someone in.
Or someone walking out would hold the door open for you,but not in black military garb.

He could have gone to danbury and bought one off a gang banger easily as well.....
If I could wave a magic wand, and make all guns, and knowledge of guns dissapear, it probably wouldn't help a whole lot. We still have bows, slingshots, and a variety of other projectile weapons, blunt weapons, bladed weapons which people can use to commit senseless violence.
