Don't forget about the fact that the original sin/crime is a sin/crime because god decided it was from the begin.
Then.. he send himself to earth to die for that judgment he gave to the humans... And now he wants to us to worship him for that? really? It doesn't make any sense at all.

Today, most of our society we have much higher moral standards than the bible. One of them is: the sons are not guilty of the crimes of their parents... but on that book moral code say... we should still pay for the crimes of our ancestors (don't matter if it was thousands years ago)

I notice you frequently use 'them' and 'they' when you defend your beliefs. You try to justify your point of view by saying 'the religious amongst us' behave in a specific way. My friend, you cannot let what others do affect your own belief system. The truth is within you, literally and figuratively. Truth is another name for god. Labels serve an injustice to mystical things such as our creator and higher powers. Create your own definitions with your own experiences, find the desire to search for truth and focus on it.

i use them and they when i am talking about anyone who is not me, your message uses too many words to say nothing. i dont allow other peoples beliefs to cloud my opinions on the world i'm pretty nifty at that thinking thing. but of course if i dont believe in god i haven't found the truth and ive been affected by other people, well seems you've got it all sown up then . how foolish of me

What does God have to do with accepting Jesus and ritually handing your life over to him? Are you and the OP talking about the same God? The Christian God? Maybe not.

I'm not an atheist, but that guy from the Old Testament isn't my God.

I can only speak for my self.

I am talking about the Only God. The ONE. He does not Punish, man does that himself. so NO he's not in the old testament.. I don't know what God they talk about in the bible, I wasn't there..

I don't understand the connection to Jesus, but that's just how it happened for me. I think of him as an enlightened master, not like a savior, and yet he did save me, somehow, what ever that means, but it's not some automatic magic.. If you read his words, it's a lot like being a jedi.. It's a life long practice.

The God I'm talking about leads me to write posts like this:

About Christmas:

Now I love it even more than when I was a kid, and I can't afford a single present. My kitty Loves the christmas tree he just sits under it looking up at all the lights. He will be the only thing under the tree this year, but what a present he is.

And writing that, and reading it again fills me with Love and Joy.

yeah original sin that's a beauty that one. if your baby dies before youve had a pedophile dribble some water over their head it will suffer and burn in eternal anguish and pain for ever because of gods love and jesus dying for our sins but changing nothing hehe.
every night i go to bed with my husband i add to the tortures and traumas i will get after my death born against gods wishes with free will and sexuality but please dont use either. although when i do lie down with another man i am quite often stoned so i think the bible says thats okay.

No one was there! Do you mean that you haven't read the Bible?

I don't understand the connection to Jesus,

From the first line of the OP:

The bible speaks about giving up your life for Christ, and when you do this you will be transformed. I heard this my whole life and called myself a Christian but I didn't commit my life to the principles and way of living taught by Jesus.

but that's just how it happened for me. I think of him as an enlightened master, not like a savior, and yet he did save me,

He saved you? From what?

If I read who's words? Read them where?

You just had your "experience" around 7 months age, you said. How old are you? Meh, life is a life long practice.

Nope that wasn't me..

My Experience not in quotes was something like 10 years ago.. I was in the Army and Now I am out. I'm older than you think. I also do not care about the bible, or whatever it is you are getting at because you are asking things I have already told you.

When I said I was not there I mean when the bible was written or before that when it happened... So I cannot know what they were writing about.

For some reason my body said for Jesus to come inside my heart.. I don't know why. I never read the bible.
You must be confusing me for someone else.

what was I saved from? Myself.. You do not understand that I said it's not like magic. I am not a christian like that silly.

I can't explain it to you. I'm not arguing with you. Why don't you tell me what it is YOU think. You can be a player or a hater. Be a player...

"If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."

i dont know what sins you've committed, all i know is you have committed some. But thats not even the point. The point is you dont need to try and live a good life because Jesus already lived a perfect one. I am not "Holier than thou" I am a fellow sinner.

the only reason you can make that comment with such certainty is because every aspect of normal human behaviour according to the bible is sin, by whose standards am i a sinner, by my standards i'm a very decent person, i have worked for charities the majority of my adult life (for next to no pay but thats another subject) i've always been decent and kind to people, im the kind of tit that apologizes to people when they bump into me in the street. ive done the whole suffering bit that the godly are supposed to do. so what are my sins and by whose standards?

Sin is physical reality. There is no judgement. The bible is written with personification because the people of the time could not understand in another way. I sometimes suspect keepers of secret knowledge wrote the bible and passed on some good rules to silly people..

You will keep coming here, until you choose to leave. It's not a bad thing to be in sin. It's a choice. It doesn't mean bad or evil or negative, it just means worldly..

Being saved, just means bringing forth spirit. It's not a choice a being makes for you. Being decent and kind to people is awesome, but you still have a body.

No ones standards matter. If you are really as you say you are, then you are more godly than most. If your heart weighs less than the feather of truth you are "saved" from having to be in sin, ie, on Earth. enlightenment literally.

Well, apparently wearing mixed woolen and linen clothing is a sin. As is swearing. If you've sat on something a woman may have sat or lain upon while a woman was bleeding, you're unclean. If you haven't spent a sunday offering up yourself in worship, you a sinner, mah friend! Ever lied? You're a winner! I mean, sinner! Gossiped at all? You guessed it! Sin!

"Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5.v19
Also, if you have a child out of wedlock, not only are you buggered, but so is your kid, oh, and the ten generations that follow it.

it seems we agree on most things but you attribute it to a god i don't. it seems what your saying is that you dont believe in the judgemental man in the sky god watching our every move and punishing sinners, in your messages you suggest that good and evil and cruelty and kindness exist in us not through some external force, i cant disagree with that, that is exactly what i'm saying.
I whole heartedly believe in karma not that i think an external force watches and corrects i believe we fulfil that ourselves we have to carry who we are everywhere with us if your cruel or spiteful bridges burn around you and no matter how detached you are you will still have to look at yourself in the mirror and see who that truly is even if it's just every so often when you let your guard down.(you in general not you personally )
I have to disagree with the notion that we are born in sin and every move we make damns us to hell if we don't say the right words on the right day and pay for the churches roof, I'm deeply insulted on a human level by the fact that the people at the top especially in the catholic religion dont believe themselves what they are preaching, if they did the sickening and immense amount of child abuses and cover ups could never happen, if the preachers truly believed what they told the kids in church they could never do the things they have done or help to cover it up without living in blind terror of the wrath of their god.

we're doomed we're all doomed hehe
oh i see the bible standards are the ones we're going by oh that's fine i can just carry right on and then at some point before i die i can confess and it's all wiped clean isn't that how it works? we'll have to ask one of these people who've found god. need to get a couple of murders in quick hehe
) hope them holy bogies weren't forbidden fruit or you may have damned everyone by chewing on them if its not a sin it ought to be

Of course it's the Bible standards. Even if they claim to not read the Bible, they will still judge you by it
Even if your everyday life is perfect, and you are a wonderful person, there will always be someone who will trawl through looking for imperfections to judge you upon. Such a world we live in.
Whatever happened to live and let live?

People who take the bibles as litteral words are fricking crazy.

If you study properly, you will realise the whole things is not just an astronomers attempt at teaching the general public about the universe but also teaching people how to open up parts of the brain to activate a higher level of conciousness.

If you look at it this way, it will suddenly all click in place.

Have a look at Bill Donahue's talks on you tube, he pretty much picks the bible to peices and SHOWS you what it really means.

props to you! truth is the only true reality. there is no shame in being wrong but what you make for yourself.

many christians hide behind false faith. they believe only what they are told by others instead of risking their own beliefs in the search for truth.

a willingness to accept whatever the truth may be is the first step.

A similar thing happened to me with my non-Christian religion.

So which of us is right?
