I notice you frequently use 'them' and 'they' when you defend your beliefs. You try to justify your point of view by saying 'the religious amongst us' behave in a specific way. My friend, you cannot let what others do affect your own belief system. The truth is within you, literally and figuratively. Truth is another name for god. Labels serve an injustice to mystical things such as our creator and higher powers. Create your own definitions with your own experiences, find the desire to search for truth and focus on it.

What does God have to do with accepting Jesus and ritually handing your life over to him? Are you and the OP talking about the same God? The Christian God? Maybe not.
I'm not an atheist, but that guy from the Old Testament isn't my God.
Now I love it even more than when I was a kid, and I can't afford a single present. My kitty Loves the christmas tree he just sits under it looking up at all the lights. He will be the only thing under the tree this year, but what a present he is.

I can only speak for my self.
I am talking about the Only God. The ONE. He does not Punish, man does that himself. so NO he's not in the old testament.. I don't know what God they talk about in the bible, I wasn't there..
I don't understand the connection to Jesus,
The bible speaks about giving up your life for Christ, and when you do this you will be transformed. I heard this my whole life and called myself a Christian but I didn't commit my life to the principles and way of living taught by Jesus.
but that's just how it happened for me. I think of him as an enlightened master, not like a savior, and yet he did save me,
but it's not some automatic magic.. If you read his words,
it's a lot like being a jedi.. It's a life long practice.

You just had your "experience" around 7 months age, you said. How old are you? Meh, life is a life long practice.

i dont know what sins you've committed, all i know is you have committed some. But thats not even the point. The point is you dont need to try and live a good life because Jesus already lived a perfect one. I am not "Holier than thou" I am a fellow sinner.

the only reason you can make that comment with such certainty is because every aspect of normal human behaviour according to the bible is sin, by whose standards am i a sinner, by my standards i'm a very decent person, i have worked for charities the majority of my adult life (for next to no pay but thats another subject) i've always been decent and kind to people, im the kind of tit that apologizes to people when they bump into me in the street. ive done the whole suffering bit that the godly are supposed to do. so what are my sins and by whose standards?edit on 14-12-2012 by glassspider because: too many whens
