Clinton used Halliburton

This is old news, but it may be of interest to some here.
Clinton used Halliburton. I'm still hunting down to see
if he used Halliburton as a sole source, or if he allowed
bidding. I think Bechtel was also used, but I'm not sure.
I'll post more here if I find anything else.

Halliburton Unit Awarded Logistics Services Contract to Support U.S. Forces in the Balkans

Dallas, Texas - Brown & Root Services (BRS), a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), has been selected to continue its services as the premier logistics support provider to U.S. forces deployed in the Balkans region. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Transatlantic Programs Center announced today that it awarded the logistics support services contract, which becomes effective on May 28, 1999, to Brown & Root Services for a period of up to five years. Contract value is estimated up to $180 million per year, with a maximum value of $900 million if all four option periods are exercised. The one-year contract has four one-year options that can be awarded at the government's discretion.

Well, that's a given, but also the other point would be what has been stated ad nauseum...Halliburton had the contract LONG before the Iraq war and LONG before the Bush administration.

But it just goes to show you that sides can be blind. Yes Clinton gave no -bid contracts, he had no choice. Neither did Bush unless you wanted a foreign company handle the logistics of US troops. It is a moot argument.

Lost Sailor, open the original pic in Microsoft paint, and use the 'image stretch/skew' option. Set the width and height to 25% and then save the new size as a .jpg file. In the Member Center, you can upload the file then and copy/paste it to your avatar hyperlink line in your profile.
